The Technique of Data Analysis

37 CHAPTER IV RESEARCH FINDINGS

A. The Description of the Data

This chapter presented the result of the research. The writer obtained two kinds of data; the scores of pre-test and the scores of post-test.

1. The Pre-Test Scores

The data of pre-test scores can be seen in the table 4.1 below: Table 4.1 No Name Criteria Total PRON OUNC IATI ON GRAM M AR VOCA B ULAR Y FLUE NC Y COM PREHE NSIO N 1 Student 1 3 3 2 2 3 52 2 Student 2 3 3 2 2 2 48 3 Student 3 3 4 4 3 4 72 4 Student 4 2 2 2 1 1 32 5 Student 5 4 4 4 3 4 76 6 Student 6 2 2 3 2 3 48 7 Student 7 4 3 4 4 4 76 8 Student 8 3 3 3 3 3 60 9 Student 9 3 2 3 2 3 52 10 Student 10 4 4 4 3 4 76 11 Student 11 2 2 2 2 2 40 12 Student 12 3 4 4 3 4 72 13 Student 13 2 2 3 2 3 48 14 Student 14 2 3 3 2 3 52 15 Student 15 2 2 2 1 2 36 16 Student 16 2 2 2 1 2 36 17 Student 17 2 2 2 1 2 36 18 Student 18 2 2 2 1 2 36 19 Student 19 2 2 2 2 2 40 20 Student 20 2 2 2 2 2 40 21 Student 21 3 3 4 3 3 64 22 Student 22 2 2 3 2 2 44 N=22 TOTAL 1136 MEAN 51,64 As mentioned in the table, after the data analyzed, it shows that the mean is 51,64 the median is 48 the highest score is 76 and the lowest score is 32.

2. The Post-Test Scores

The data of the post-test score can be seen in the table 4.2 below: Table 4.2 No Name Criteria Total PRON OUNC IATI ON GRAM M AR VOCA B ULAR Y FLUE NC Y COM PREHE NSIO N 1 Student 1 3 3 3 2 3 56 2 Student 2 3 3 3 3 3 60 3 Student 3 4 4 4 4 4 80 4 Student 4 2 3 2 2 3 48 5 Student 5 4 4 4 4 4 80 6 Student 6 2 3 2 2 3 48 7 Student 7 4 4 4 4 4 80 8 Student 8 3 4 4 3 4 72 9 Student 9 3 3 3 3 3 60 10 Student 10 4 4 4 4 4 80 11 Student 11 2 3 3 2 3 52 12 Student 12 4 4 4 3 4 76 13 Student 13 3 4 4 3 4 72 14 Student 14 2 3 3 3 3 56 15 Student 15 2 3 3 3 3 56 16 Student 16 2 2 3 2 3 48 17 Student 17 3 3 4 3 4 68 18 Student 18 2 2 3 3 3 52 19 Student 19 2 3 3 3 3 56 20 Student 20 2 3 3 2 3 52 21 Student 21 3 4 4 4 4 76 22 Student 22 3 4 4 3 4 72 N=22 TOTAL 1400 MEAN 63,64 As mentioned in the table, after the data analyzed, it shows that the mean is 63,64 the median is 60 the highest score is 80 and the lowest score is 48.

3. The Comparison of the Test Result

The comparison of the test result can be seen in the table 4.3 below: Table 4.3 No Pre- Test Score X Post-Test score Y D = X-Y D 2 = X-Y 2 1 52 56 -4 16 2 48 60 -12 144 3 72 80 -8 64 4 32 48 -16 256 5 76 80 -4 16 6 48 48 7 76 80 -4 16 8 60 72 -12 144 9 52 60 -8 64 10 76 80 -4 16 11 40 52 -12 144 12 72 76 -4 16 13 48 72 -24 576 14 52 56 -4 16 15 36 56 -20 400 16 36 48 -12 144 17 36 68 -32 1024 18 36 52 -16 256 19 40 56 -16 256 20 40 52 -12 144 21 64 76 -12 144 22 44 72 -28 784 N=22 ∑X = 1136 ∑Y = 1400 ∑D = -264 ∑D 2 = 4640 This table shows that the result of ∑D = -264 and ∑D 2 = 4640.
