ABSTRACT
This research is conducted based on the identification result of public
service in Kecamatan Weru Kabupaten Sukoharjo that many young people
are jobless, living in poverty, low education, and lack of skill needed in seeking for a job, so that they become the burden for the family. This research
aims at developing a model of working skill training in order to cut off the
poverty circle by empowering rural potencies. The data-collecting methods
are survey, interview, questionnaire, and observation. The data-analyzing technique is descriptive qualitative. The result of the research shows that the rural
profiles and potencies hat can be used for developing a training model include
the numbers of poor young people, the kinds of training the young people are

interested in, the existing social organization, and the salary amount.
Kata Kunci: pemuda miskin, pengembangan model, keterampilan
kerja, pemutusan matarantai kemiskinan.

PENDAHULUAN
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan identifikasi permasalahan dari kegiatan
pengabdian pada masyarakat dosen (Rubino, dkk: 2005), bahwa di Kecamatan
Weru ditemukan banyak remaja menganggur, mereka tinggal di dalam keluarga miskin
