1.3 Scope of the Study

The writer will focus to analyze on the general description of Bree Tanner as the main character and conflict experienced by Bree. The writer will also focus on study psy chological approach especially main character‘s dilemma and anxiety.

1.4 Significance of the Study

1. For the writer The researcher wantswill to find out how Bree‘s general description described in line with her dilemma and anxiety to find the truth of her new life 2. For the reader It will give more knowledge about the character and conflict related with the aspect in Psychology, like dilemma and anxiety. 3. For the university It will be an additional references for Dian Nuswantoro University, particularly for the students of English department.

In accordance to Endraswara 2003:7 states that the important feature from qualitative research are: a. Researcher is the key instrument that will read accurately of the literary work b. The research had done descriptively, it means explaining on formed of word or picture if needed, not numeral formed. c. Qualitative research more the priority of process than the result d. The analysis inductively

The researcher focused on the intrinsic elements and extrinsic elements. The intrinsic elements includes characters, setting and conflicts, and the extrinsic elements includes psychological approach especially Dilemma and Anxious.
