A. Tinjauan Umum 1. Kegiatan Operasional

Perseroan bergerak dalam bidang usaha industri makanan dan minuman. Di Indonesia, Perseroan merupakan produsen terbesar produk olahan susu cair, dan produsen terbesar keempat produk teh RTD (ready to drink).

Perseroan mengolah produk-produk minuman dengan menggunakan teknologi UHT (Ultra High Temperature) dan mengemasnya dalam kemasan karton aseptik. Dengan teknologi pengolahan dan pengemasan seperti ini minuman disterilkan dengan cara dipanaskan pada temperatur ± 140º C selama 3 – 4 detik, kemudian dikemas dengan kemasan karton-steril dibawah kondisi aseptik (under aseptic condition), sehingga minuman tersebut dapat tahan lama meskipun tanpa bahan pengawet. Pemanasan dengan suhu yang tinggi pada teknologi UHT ini dapat membunuh seluruh bakteri yang ada, tanpa merusak atau mengurangi secara berlebihan kandungan nutrisi dan vitamin yang terkandung dalam produk.

Perseroan telah menggunakan teknologi UHT ini sejak mulai berproduksi di tahun 1975, dan Perseroan merupakan pelopor penggunaan proses UHT dan teknik pengemasan aseptik di industri minuman di Indonesia.

Di kelompok minuman ini Perseroan memproduksi beberapa jenis minuman seperti: minuman susu cair yang antara lain dipasarkan dengan merk dagang Ultra Milk, Ultra Mimi, dan Susu Sehat; minuman teh yang dipasarkan dengan merk dagang Teh Kotak dan Teh Bunga; serta minuman tradisional dan minuman untuk kesehatan lainnya yang dipasarkan dengan merk dagang Sari Kacang Ijo, Sari Asem, Coco Pandan, dll. Produk minuman ini dikemas dalam kemasan 1000ml, 500ml, 300ml, 250ml, 200ml, dan 125ml.

Perseroan juga memproduksi susu kental manis (sweetened condensed milk) yang dipasarkan dengan merk dagang Ultra Milk dan Cap Sapi, serta memproduksi produk susu bubuk (powder milk) berdasarkan kerjasama tol packing dengan pihak lain.

Perseroan menjual hasil produksinya melalui berbagai jalur, termasuk pengecer modern (yang terutama terdiri atas supermarket, hypermarket, minimart, dan toko-toko P&D), pengecer tradisional (yang terutama terdiri atas pengecer independen kecil) dan pedagang grosir serta berbagai institusi di dalam negeri.

A. Overview 1. Operational Activities

The Company is engaged in the food and beverage industry. In Indonesia, the Company is the largest producer liquid dairy products and the fourth largest producer of RTD tea products (ready to drink).

The Company produces beverages processed with UHT (Ultra High Temperature) technology and packed in aseptic cartons. Through this UHT and aseptic technology, beverage products are sterilized by heating at a temperature of ± 140º C for 3-4 seconds. They are then packed in cartons under aseptic conditions, so that products can have longer shelf lifes without any preservatives. This UHT technology with high temperature can kill all bacteria whilst keeping the nutritional value and the vitamins of the product intact.

The Company has been using UHT technology since it started production in 1975 and the Company is the pioneer of UHT and aseptic packaging techniques usage in the beverage industry in Indonesia.

In this beverage category, the Company produces several drinks with various flavors. Milk is marketed under the brand names of Ultra Milk, Ultra Mimi, and Susu Sehat. Tea products are marketed as Teh Kotak and Teh Bunga, and traditional drinks and health drinks are marketed under brand names of Sari Kacang Ijo, Sari Asem, Coco Pandan, etc. These products are available in 1000ml, 500ml, 300ml, 250ml, 200ml, and 125ml packs.

The Company also produces sweetened condensed milk which is marketed under the brand names Ultra Milk and Cap Sapi as well as milk powder under toll manufacturing agreement with third party.

The Company sells its products through various channels, including modern retailers (which mainly consists of supermarkets, hypermarkets, mini mart, and grocery stores), traditional retailers (which mainly consists of small independent retailers) and wholesalers as well as various institutions in the country.
