RINGKASAN

Efektivitas Metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton Orde Delapan Terhadap
Metode Runge-Kutta Orde Enam Pada Model Penyebaran Virus Avian
Influenza; Said Ripin Bukaryo, 091820101015; 2012: 68 halaman; Program Pasca
Sarjana , Jurusan Matematika Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam,
Universitas Jember.
Fenomena penyebaran virus Avian Influenza telah dimodelkan dalam bentuk
persamaan diferensial biasa orde satu oleh Okosun (dalam Yustica, 2010). Model
tersebut digunakan peneliti untuk dicari solusi numeriknya menggunakan metode
Adams Basfhfoth-Moulton orde delapan dibandingkan metode Runge-Kutta orde
enam sehingga diketahui efektivitas kedua metode tersebut berdasarkan jumlah
iterasi, flops, error dan waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk konvergen. Sofware aplikasi
yang dipakai membantu penelitian ini adalah MATLAB.
Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk: a) mengetahui formulasi metode Adams
Bashforth-Moulton Orde Delapan, b) menguji konvergensi metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton Orde Delapan, c) mengevaluasi efektivitas metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton Orde Delapan terhadap metode Runge-Kutta Orde Enam dalam
menyelesaikan model penyebaran virus Avian Influenza.
Tahapan kegiatan penelitian ini meliputi, pertama, menentukan formula metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton Orde Delapan dan metode Runge-Kutta Orde
Enam untuk pemodelan penyebaran virus Avian Influenza. Kedua, uji konvergensi metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton Orde Delapan. Ketiga, mengambil model
penyebaran virus Avian Influenza dan sampel data sebagai nilai awal. Keempat,
menyusun program dan simulasi MATLAB untuk formulasi kedua metode tersebut.
Hasil penelitian disimpulkan sebagai berikut.

Pertama, metode Adams

Bashforth-Moulton Prediktor Korektor Orde Delapan diformulasikan seperti dalam
corollary 4.1 dan corollary 4.2. Kedua, metode Adams Bahforth-Moulton Orde
Delapan merupakan metode konvergen, dibuktikan lemma 4.1 dan lemma 4.2.

Berdasarkan grafik konvergensi hasil simulasi program terhadap formula metode
Adams Bashforth-Moulton orde delapan pada model penyebaran virus Avian Influenza dengan input nilai awal banyaknya suspect unggas sebanyak 300 ekor,
unggas terinfeksi sebanyak 165 ekor, suspect manusia sebanyak 60 orang, jumlah
manusia terinfeksi sebanyak 7 orang, ditetapkan toleransi 10−3 dan 10−4 serta
ukuran langkah 0,01; dihasilkan bahwa grafik metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton
orde delapan menurun secara konvergen menuju nol sampai pada batas toleransi
tersebut (grafik 4.7 dan grafik 4.9). Ketiga, berdasarkan data tersebut dengan
nilai toleransi 10−4 , besar ukuran langkah dipilih 0,01 dan jumlah iterasi 10.000
metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton orde delapan lebih efektif daripada metode
Runge-Kutta orde enam karena nilai error yang dihasilkan lebih kecil, yaitu sebesar 2, 894390838719119 × 10−4 untuk metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton orde delapan dan sebesar 3, 164918183387044 × 10−4 untuk metode Runge-Kutta orde
enam. Dengan data yang sama, dipilih toleransi 10−3 dan 10−4 serta ukuran
langkah 0,01 didapatkan metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton orde delapan jumlah
iterasinya lebih efisien daripada metode Runge-Kutta orde enam (tabel 4.1 dan
4.2).
