The Questionnaire Results Conclusions
teach the procedure to the students for more than two meetings. Eight meetings should be sufficient for the learners to understand the procedure and use it
appropriately. To help the students understand the procedure quicker, the lecturers could
assign them to do more homework and class discussion. The lecturers should also encourage the students to be more active and ask more questions in the
discussions if they seem confused. During the practice, the students are likely to make many mistakes. It would be most helpful if the lecturers assure the students
that it is completely normal for them to make mistakes during the learning process.
Additionally, anyone who plans on using Clarke and Nation’s guessing from context procedure for teaching purposes must keep in mind that this
procedure can only be taught to more advanced learners, such as college students. This is due to the fact that the procedure requires the learner to analyze the parts
of speech of unknown words as well as recognize the relationships between words and sentences in context.
