ABSTRACT

Elements Of Humanity In Scorpions’s Wind Of Change And Michael Jackson’s
Heal The World, Ratri Yulisdian, 050110191043, 2008, 45 pages, English

Department, Faculty of Letters, Jember University
Wind of Change is Scorpions’s song that appears on Scorpions’s 1990
album Crazy World. It is the highest ever selling song in Germany and is
frequently played on television shows presenting video footage of the fall of the
Berlin Wall. While Heal the World is Michael Jackson’s songs that appears on
album Dangerous, released in 1991. Wind of Change and Heal the World are the
songs that were created as their careness to dehumanization. The writer analyzes
the elements of humanities that can be found in the two songs.
Historical- Biographical approach and Moral- Philosophical approach are
the appropriate approaches to analyze Scorpions’s Wind of Change and Michael
Jackson’s Heal the World. Historical- Biographical approach is used to seek the
inspirations that inspire Scorpions band and Michael Jackson creation of Wind of
Change and Heal the World. Moral- Philosophical is used to find the element of
humanity in the songs.
Inductive method is used to analyze this thesis. It is intended to make the
readers more understand. It is a method of analysis that is started from the specific
concepts and it goes to the general conclusions, with a purpose to make a precise
and chronological analysis.
The purpose of analyzing these songs is to know the elements of
humanities as the moral message that can be found in Wind of Change and Heal

the World. On the other side, it can improve the knowledge of the reader about the
story of the songs.
