3.4.2 Questionnaire

In this research, questionnaire was employed as one of instruments to gain the primary data by asking questions to the respondents. Moreover, as the topic of this research is students’ perception, asking questions would be the appropriate way to gain the primary data. The data gathering technique by using questionnaire as the instrument was conducted to see the relation between reading and writing tasks implemented by the students, a set of activities on reading and writing implemented in CRW 1 class, the further impact of the implementation towards their reading and writing abilities, and their perception towards the No Aspects Stage The underlying principles 1 Issue elaboration Critical thinking Identifies and summarize problem at issue, Stonewater Wolcott 2005 2 Evidence Investigative approach, Fairburn Winch 1996 3 Context and assumptions Identifies other points of view, Hart 1998 4 Students’ position Identifies own perspective and position, Stonewater Wolcott 2005 5 Conclusion and related outcomes Evaluation to a greater public knowledge, Hay 1996 6 Innovative thinking 7 Connecting, synthesizing and transforming Generate alternatives solutions Wallace and Wray 2006 57 implementation. The questionnaire employed was close-ended questions. The reason of choosing the close-ended questions was because of the type of the questions, the analysis of the result, the focus of the questions, the analysis effectiveness, the time limited and the amount of the respondents. There were 22 questions which were divided into three sections. The questions asked were derived from some points in the underlying principles. The points are presented in the following.
