Key words: bilingual, code mixing.
When people use two language or more by inserting the element of one language to
the other, which is used consistently, it is call code mixing. We usually find code mixing in
radiobroadcast by the broadcaster, novel, newspaper, magazine and many more. But
sometimes people do not realize that they used and find mixing word in they daily activity.
Jawa Post is one of newspaper need for some people in modern information and life.
The headline economic business uses two languages. They are English and Indonesian
language. In this research, the writer carriers out the research entitled “Code Mixing Analysis
on the Headline of Economic Business Articles of Jawa Pos Daily Newspaper, in October
Edition 2011.
The objective in the research are (1) to find out the form of code mixing on the
Headline of Economic Business Articles of Jawa Pos Daily Newspaper, in October Edition
2011 (2) to find out the functions of code mixing on the Headline of Economic Business
Articles of Jawa Pos Daily Newspaper, in October Edition 2011.
The design of the research is descriptive qualitative research. The writer uses
descriptive qualitative research because describes form and function of code mixing. The data
word and phrase in code mixing on the Headline of Economic Business Articles of Jawa Pos
Daily Newspaper, in October Edition 2011.
The result of the research show that (i) the writer found 67 form of code mixing.
Those code mixing of 40 words, 24 phrases, 3 clauses,0 word reduplication, 0 idiom, 0
hybrid.(ii) the writer found 67 function of code mixing. Those code mixing of 46
informational function, 16 expressive function, 0 directive function,0 phatic function.
Thus, the writer suggests that the readers especially the student of English Education
Department of Muria Kudus University are expected to be able to recognize and understand
the using of code mixing based on the context. Beside that, the readers are able to know the
form and function that the use of code mixing in order that they can understand the text
easily.

Ketika orang menggunakan dua bahasa atau lebih,dengan menyisipkan unsur dari satu
bahasa ke bahasa yang lain, yang mana digunakan secara konsisten,ini disebut dengan kode
campuran. Kita biasanya menemukan campur kode dalam siaran radio, novel, Koran, majalah
dan sebagainya. Kadang-kadang orang tidak sadar bahwa mereka menggunakan dan
menemukan campur kode dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Jawa pos adalah Koran yang dibutuhkan orang dalam kehidupan yang modern seperti
ini. Koran jawa pos di bagian ekonomi bisnis menggunakan dua bahasa, yakni bahasa
Indonesia dan bahassa inggris. Dalam penelitian ini penulis mengambil judul” Analysis Code
Mixing code mixing on the Headline of Economic Business Articles of Jawa Pos Daily
Newspaper, in October Edition 2011.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk menemukan bentuk campur kode yang
ditemukan pada Koran jawa pos bagian ekonomi bisnis edisi Oktober 2011.(2) untuk
menemukan fungsi campur kode yang ditemukan pada Koran jawa po bagian ekonomi bisnis
edisi Oktober 2011.
Rancangan dari penelitian ini adalah berupa penelitian deskriptif kualitatif.penulis
menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif karena menggambarkan bentuk-bentuk dan
fungsi campur kode. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kata atau frase dan sumber datanya
adalah Koran jawa pos badian ekonomi bisnis edisi Oktober 2011.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) penulis menemukan ada 67 campur kode
dalam Koran jawa pos bagian ekonomi bisnis edisi Oktober 2011 yang terdiri 40 word, 24
phrase,3 clause, 0 word reduplication, 0 idiom, 0 hybrid.(ii) penulis menemukan ada 4 fungsi
dalam penggunaan campur kode yaitu 46 informational function, 16 expressive function, 5
directive function, 0 phatic function.
Dengan demikian, penulis menyarankan bahwa pembaca khususnya mahasiswa
jurusan progam studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris diharapkan dapat mengenali dan memahami
penngunaan campur kode berdasarkan konteks. Disamping itu pembaca dapat mengetahui
bentuk dan fungsi yang mempengaruhi penggunaan campur kode sehingga dapat memahami
teks yang terdapat pada campur kode dengan mudah.
