Key words: Body Language, Teaching Learning Process
Teaching learning process is the activity to give information and discuss
new knowledge in class or out of the class. To make the teaching learning process
easy to understand, it is deal with the use of body Language. Body Language
makes the teaching learning process more interesting so the information would be
easy to understand.
The objective of the this research are to describe body language used by
the lecturers of English Education Department of Muria Kudus University in
teaching learning process and the students perceptions of body language used by
the lecturer. This research belongs to qualitative research in the type of case study.
The data of this research are body language and students perceptions of body
language used by the lecturers of English Education Department of Muria Kudus
University in teaching learning process which are taken from 2 lecturers and 28 of
the thirdth semester students of English Education Department of Muria Kudus
University.
The result of this research shows body language of the lecturers like
serious, smiling are related to facial expression. Thumb up, pointing finger are
related to gesture. Looking at the class, looking at the students, looking at the
board/papers is related to eye contact. Walking in front of the class, walking
through the class, body movements, sitting are related to body distance. The result
of student’s perceptions of body language used by the lecturers shows that from
28 students there were 81% agree and 19% disagree for the lecturer 1 and for the
lecturer 2 there were 79% agree and 21% disagree, it means the body language
used by the lecturers in teaching learning process is good and students more
interested when the lecturers use body language in their teaching. The writer
suggests that this research can be used as a reference to know the body language
of the student not only the lecturer.

Proses belajar mengajar adalah aktivitas di dalam kelas atau di luar kelas
untuk memberikan informasi dan mendiskusikan ilmu baru. Untuk membuat
proses belajar mengajar mudah dipahami, ini berhubungan dengan penggunaan
bahasa tubuh. Bahasa tubuh membuat proses belajar mengajar lebih menarik
sehingga informasi dapat mudah dipahami.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bahasa tubuh yang
digunakan oleh dosen pendidikan bahasa inggris universitas muria kudus dalam
proses belajar mengajar dan tanggapan siswa pada bahasa tubuh yang digunakan
oleh dosen. Penilitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi
kasus. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah bahasa tubuh dan tanggapan siswa pada
bahasa tubuh yang digunakan oleh dosen pendidikan bahasa inggris universitas
muria kudus dalam proses belajar mengajar yang diambil dari 2 dosen dan 28
siswa semester 3 pendidikan bahasa inggris universitas muria kudus.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahawa bahasa tubuh oleh dosen seperti
serius, senyum berhubungan dengan ekspresi wajah. Tanda setuju, jari menunjuk
berhubungan dengan isyarat. Melihat kelas, melihat siswa, melihat papan tulis
atau buku, berhubungan dengan hubungan mata. Berjalan didepan kelas, berjalan
melewati kelas, pergerakan tubuh, duduk berhubungan dengan jarak tubuh. Hasil
tanggapan siswa terhadap bahasa tubuh yang digunakan oleh dosen menunjukkan
bahwa dari 28 siswa ada 81% setuju dan 19% tidak setuju untuk dosen 1 dan
untuk dosen 2 ada 79% setuju dan 21% tidak setuju. Ini berarti bahasa tubuh yang
digunakan dosen dalam proses belajar mengajar adalah bagus dan siswa lebih
tertarik ketika dosen menggunakan bahasa tubuh dalam mengajarnya. Penulis
menyarankan bahwa penelitian ini bisa digunakan sebagai referensi untuk
mengetahui bahasa tubuh oleh siswa tidak hanya dosen.
