PenelitianiniberjudulPeningkatanKeterampilanKomunikasiSiswaMelaluiMeto

IPS.Berawaldaripermasalahan
yang
penulistemukandariobservasi
yang
dilakukanpadabeberapa
kali
pertemuandalamrentanwaktubulanJanuaritahun
2015.Indikatorpermasalahan
yang
ditemuiadalahpembelajaran
yang
tampakpasifditunjukandenganketidakberaniansiswamengajukanpertanyaan,
mengemukakanpendapatdanmenghargai orang lain. Melihatpermasalahan yang
akanditelitiberkaitandengan
proses
pembelajaran,
makapenulismelakukanpenelitianmemilihpenelitiantindakankelasdengandesainpenelit
ianKemmisdan Taggart, yang meliputibeberapatahapanyaitu, rencana yang

diawalidenganmelakukanobservasiawalsebelumpenelitiandilaksanakan,
persiapanbahan
ajar,
rencanapembelajaran,
metodepembelajaran,
subjekpenelitianserta
instrument
penelitian.
Tindakanpadapenelitiandilakukansatutindakanpadasetiapsiklusnya
yang
dilaksanakanpadaduapertemuan.kemudiandalamtahapobservasipenulismengamatihasi
lataudampakdaritindakan
yang
dilaksanakanterhadapsiswa.
Selanjutnyapadatahapakhirdilakukanrefleksi,
dimanapadatahapinipenulismelakukankegiatanmengkaji,
melihat,
danmempertimbangkanhasilataudampakdaritindakan
yang
dilihatdariberbagaikriteria.Alternatifpemecahanmasalah

yang
dipilihyaitupeningkatanketerampilankomunikasisiswamelaluimetodeinkuiriberbasispe
ngalamansosial.Hal
inidikatakanberhasildenganmelihatperkembanganindikatorketerampilankomunikasiya
itusiswamampumenghargailawanbicara, mampumemberikanpertanyaan yang relevan,
mampumenyampaikanpemahamansecaralisan,
mampumemberikanmasukanterhadappemahaman
orang
lain,
mampumemberikanpemahaman
yang
jelasdanmudahdimengerti.Seluruhaspekinimengalamipeningkatanbaik,darisiklusperta
mahinggasiklusketiga.Hal
initerbuktipadasikluspertamapencapaianketerampilankomunikasisiswaberkualifikasic
ukup,
kemudianpadasikluskeduamemperolehkualifikasibaiknamunpenulismasihmelihatindi
kasi
yang
perludikembangkansehinggadilanjutkansiklusketiga.Padasiklusketigadiperolehbahwa
perolehannilai

rata-rata
siswaterlihatprogresifdansudahmencapaikategoribaik.Kesimpulannya,
denganmenggunakanmetodeinkuiriberbasispengalamansosialketerampilankomunikasi
siswakelas VIII-2 SMPN 43 Bandung dapatmeningkatdenganbaik.Penulis

selanjutnya,
keterampilankomunikasiharusterusditingkatkatdengan cara membiasakan untuk
berani mengemukakan pendapat, mengajukan pertanyaan dan tidak ragu-ragu dalam
menyampaikan pemahaman sesuai informasi dan pengetahuan yang sudah mereka
pahami melalui metode inkuiri berbasis pengalaman sosial yang diguankan dalam
pembelajaran IPS sehingga pembelajaran diharapkan lebih aktif dan bermakna serta
mampu memberikan motivasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
Kata Kunci : Metode Inkuiri Berbasis Pengalaman Sosial, Keterampilan Komunikasi
ABSTRACT
This study is entitled “The improvement of Student Communication Skills
through Inquiry Method based on Social Experience in Learning Social Science”. It
started from the problem which the writer found from conducted observation in
several meetings in January 2015. The indicators of the problems found is the passive
learning preference showed by the students which do not have enough confidence to
propose questions, stating opinions, and to respect others. Seeing the problems is

related to the learning process, the researcher chose to conduct the classroom action
research using Kemmis and Taggart’s research design which covers number of steps;
the plan started by conduction an early observation before the research, learning
material preparation, lesson planning, learning method, research subject and research
instrument preparation. In the research, it is conducted one action in every cycle in
which conducted in two meetings. After that, in observation stage, the researcher
observed the result of the action conducted to the students. Next, on the last stage,
whereas on this stage, the researcher review, relook, and consider the result of the
actions seen based on various criteria. The chosen of alternative of the problem
salvation is to increase the students communication skills through inquiry method
social experience based. It resulted succeed considering the indicators development of
communication skills which the students are able to respect other speaker, to propose
relevant questions, to deliver their understanding orally, to give input towards others’
understanding, to give understandable statement. All of aspects have through positive
improvement, starting from the first cycle through the third cycle. It is proven on the
first cycle, the success in first cycle in students’ communication skills is qualified as
enough, then on the second cycle, reached the qualification good but researcher still
see an indication which still need development on the third cycle. At the third cycle, it
is conceived that the students’ average score is seen progressive and already reached
the qualification good. The conclusion is, by using inquiry social communication

skills based method, the students of class VIII-2, 43 Bandung State Junior High
School can be improved. The researcher concluded that by using the using social
learning inquiry based, able to improve the students’
communication
class VIII-2,

teachers, schools, researcher and future researchers. The communication skills still
needs improvement with making the students forming habits of delivering opinions,
proposing questions and delivering understanding based on the information and
knowledge they have learned though social learning inquiry based method in social
science undoubtedly, as it will result in more active and meaningful learning, also
gives motivation for further studies.
