BUILD A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
Jakarta, 18 July 2006 --- PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat) today conduct a signing ceremony
of Memorandom Of Understanding/MOU with PT. Media Nusantara Citra (MNC), for a
strategic partnership in supplying satellite, network, telecommunication services,
infrastructure, multimedia content, TV broadcast, advertisement placement, and other
media services. This MOU is a start of a long term partnership for a strategic business
and operational for both parties.
Both Indosat and MNC realize that together with the development of technology, sinergy
and business convergence between media business and telecommunication cannot be
avoided. Indosat as a telecommunication operator with a big amount of customer based,
and MNC as a multimedia and broadcasting company owning 3 television station, RCTI,
TPI and Global TV with its coverage of more than 10 millions viewers in Indonesia, both
understand that sinergy between the world of telecommunication and media will result
benefits for each business.
At the event, Deputy President Director Indosat, Kaizad B. Heerjee said, “ Indosat
proudly welcomes the partnership with MNC, as an effort to give benefits for both
companies. This cooperation is also a proof of Indosat’s commitment to continuously
improve service quality for a specific needs for corporate segments”.
Through this partnership, Indosat will provide various servic e and telecommunication
solution and network, such as PALAPA-C2 satellite transponder, terestrial microwave
network and cable optik network for distribution of domestic and international network as
well as to support international /operational network of MNC. MNC will provide content
such as news, infotainment, films, other programs package in a form of content as a
form of Value Added Services for cellular users. Other than that, MNC will provide an
integrated marketing media for television commercials, print, and radio.
As one of actualization from this MOU, today Indosat and MNC also sign an agreement
where RCTI as one of subsidiary company of MNC leased PALAPA-C2 satellite
transponder for its operational broadcasting.
Meanwhile President Director MNC, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, said, “The strategic
partnership between Indosat and MNC will give value added for both parties.Indosat
owns a big amount of customer based and a mature infrastructure and MNC can be a
choice of Indosat media for content and marketing.
Currently Indosat and MNC are developing partnership for cable optic for operational of
MNC, advertis ement placement for Indosat, creating quiz show, reality show and other
shows inline with the needs of Indosat’s marketing, sponsored exclusively by Indosat.
“We hope that this partnership, Indosat and MNC are able to enhance the service
quality for public, the celullar customers and viewers/readers/listeners of media,”added
Kaizad B. Heerjee.
