Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui (1) pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013
ditinjau dari pendekatan saintifik 5M, (2) pemanfaatan laboratorium dalam
pelaksanaan pendekatan saintifik, dan (3) pemanfaatan TI dalam pelaksanaan
pendekatan saintifik.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dengan pendekatan deskriptif
kuantitatif-kualitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lima SMA negeri di Kabupaten
Klaten yang telah melaksanakan Kurikulum 2013 selama dua periode. Sampel
penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik sampel populasi yang terdiri atas lima orang
guru biologi kelas X, 162 siswa kelas X dan lima orang staff sarana prasarana.
Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar angket, lembar catatan observasi,
dan panduan wawancara. Analisis data angket menggunakan analisis deskriptif
kuantitatif, data observasi dan wawancara menggunakan analisis deskriptif
kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Lima SMA negeri di
Kabupaten Klaten telah melaksanakan Kurikulum 2013 dengan sangat baik.
Pelaksanaannya sudah menerapkan pendekatan saintifik 5M (mengamati,

menanya, mengumpulkan informasi, mengasosiasi atau mengolah informasi dan
mengkomunikasikan) dengan rata-rata nilai keterlaksanaan yaitu 78,94.
Kendala yang dihadapi dalam pendekatan saintifik 5M yaitu kurangnya
keberanian siswa dalam mengajukan pertanyaan atau gagasan saat proses
pembelajaran. (2) Ke lima sekolah sudah menggunakan laboratorium dalam
proses pembelajaran biologi. Keterlaksanaan praktikum biologi setiap topik
sudah sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata yaitu 77,19. Kegiatan praktikum
dilaksanakan 2-3 kali setiap semester dan perlu adanya manajemen pelaksanaan
praktikum. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari ketersediaan alat dan bahan praktikum
yang digunakan dalam setiap topik sudah baik dengan nilai rata-rata
ketersediaan yaitu 71,17. Tetapi ada beberapa alat dan bahan yang kondisinya
kurang terawat dan belum ada laboran resmi yang mengurusi laboratorium. (3)
Sarana TI (teknologi informasi) sudah digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi
untuk melaksanakan pendekatan saintifik dengan sangat baik. Sarana TI yang
dimiliki memperoleh kategori sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata 75,71 meliputi
komputer/PC, laptop, TV, LCD, Internet, handphone/smartphone dan daya
listrik. Pengadaan dan penggunaan saran TI di sekolah masih perlu
ditingkatkan.

2013 in Biology Teaching Process Viewed from the Use of Laboratory and IT
Facilities at Public Senior High Schools in Klaten Regency. Thesis.

The research objective is to determine (1) the implementation of
Curriculum 2013 viewed from the 5M scientific approach, (2) the use of
laboratory in the implementation of the scientific approach, and (3) the use of
IT in the implementation of the scientific approach.
This was survey research with the quantitative-qualitative descriptive
approach. The research was conducted in five public senior high schools in
Klaten Regency that had implemented Curriculum 2013 for two periods. The
research sample were obtained by population sampling technique consisting of
five biology teachers of grade X, 162 grade X students and five facilities and
infrastructure staff. The research instrument were questionnaires, observation
sheet, and interview guides. The questionnaire data analysis used the
quantitative descriptive analysis, and the observation and interview data
analysis used the qualitative descriptive analysis.
The results of study are as follows. (1) Five public senior high schools in

Klaten Regency have implemented Curriculum 2013 very well. They have
implemented the 5M scientific approach (observing, questing, collecting
information, associating or processing information, and communicating it) with
the average score of implementation being 78.94. The constraints encountered
in the 5M scientific approach is the students’ lack of courage in asking
questions or ideas in the learning process. (2) All of the five schools have used
biology laboratory in the teaching process. The feasibility of biology lab in each
topic is very good with the average score being 77.19. The practical activities
are carried out 2-3 times each semester and the practicum implementation
management is needed. It can be seen from the availability of lab instrument
and the material used in each topic has been good with the average score of
availability being 71.17. But, there are some instrument and materials whose
condition are not maintained and there have been no official laboratory
assistants in charge of the laboratory. (3) The IT facilities have been used in
biology teaching to carry out the scientific approach very well. The IT facilities
owned is in a very good category, with an average score of 75.71, including
computer/PC, laptop, TV, LCD, Internet, handphone/smartphone and electric
power. The procurement and use of means of IT at schools still need to be
improved.
