Abstract
Evaluations are generally less measure critical thinking skills. Question of this study is whether the
development of multiple-choice tests reasoned on the subject of excretion is an effective system to measure critical
thinking skills high school biology students in the district of Bradford? The purpose of this study is to determine the
effectiveness of a multiple choice test beralasa nuntuk measure students' critical thinking skills. This research
method using the Research and Development (R and D) is a method of research and development to produce
products. The population is class XI IPA SMAN 01 Ketanggungan as many as 70 students, XI IPA SMAN 01 Tanjung
many as 175 students and XI IPA SMAN 01 Kersana as many as 105 students. So the total population of 345
students. The sampling technique in this study using purposive sampling technique. The number of samples in this
study 193 students. Results of the study produces the characteristic items include average value validita ssebesar
0.421 (medium), reliability sebersar 0.76 (high), the level of difficulty of 0.601 (medium), distinguishing of 0.47

(good) and the functioning of the detractors of 75 % (works fine). Based on these results, the development of
multiple-choice tests reasoned said to be effective based on the level of validity ≤r11≤ range of 0.40 to 0.20, the level
of reliability with a range of 0.60 ≤r11≤ 0.80, the level of difficulty with the range 0:30
