the GPS receiver estimates the current elevation when determining its location.
The accuracy varies depending on the position of satellites overhead. It won’t be as accurate as
an elevation entered from a known source, but is suficient for most navigation applications.

Welcome Setup
Use the Welcome Setup Page to insert a message, such as ownership information, that appears when you
turn on your GPSMAP 60CSx.
On the Setup Menu Page, highlight the
Welcome Message icon, and press EntEr.
to add a welcome message:
1. Use the on-screen keypad and the rocKEr
to enter your welcome message, and press EntEr
.
2. When inished, highlight oK, and press EntEr
to close. 3. Turn your unit off and then on again to view
your welcome message.

Jumpmaster is an accessory designed for experienced skydivers. A jumpmaster is the individual in charge
of a group of skydivers coordinating a group or cargo drop. A list of abbreviations and acronyms for
Jumpmaster settings can be found on
page 81 .
to access the Jumpmaster:
On the Setup Menu Page, highlight the
Jumpmaster icon, and press EntEr.
You can set the Jumpmaster to one of three types of jumps: HAHO, HALO, or Static. The jump type
selected determines what additional setup information is required. For all jump types, altitudes drop or opening
are measured in feet above ground level AGL.
to set the type of jump:
1. Highlight the Jump type ield, and press Enter
to view the list of jump options.
2. Select the jump type, and press Enter. The
page changes to display options for the selected jump type setup.
A desired impact point DIP must be set for all jumps. This is a waypoint that you have previously
marked or another location from the Find Menu where you want to land.

1. Highlight each ield and press Enter to open
the numeric keypad.
2. Enter the desired values and select oK to
enter each value.
For HAHO and HALO jumps, wind speeds and directions can be entered for every 1,000 feet of canopy
drift CD and every 2,000 feet of free fall drift FFD. The wind setup must be completed before entering
values for forward throw and course to HARP.
Wind Setup Wind speeds and directions are added on the Wind
Setup page.
Wind speeds are measured in knots and directions are based on origination of wind. This information
is usually based on data collected from National Oceanographic Atmospheric Administration
NOAA or by a drop zone support team leader DZSTL monitoring the course of a Pilot Balloon
PiBal released from the ground at the DIP and wind streamers dropped from aircraft once the HARP is
calculated. Jumpmaster is capable of handling doglegs in wind
