Conclusions CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

64 2. Based on the research finding, the majority of Microteaching students perceived the feedback as something motivating and that it was resulting on the improvement on their performance in Microteaching class. The feedback was helpful for the students that it helped them to see their strengths to be developed later and their weaknesses to be improved. Almost all of the students agreed that they needed feedback to improve their teaching performance in Microteaching class. 3. The last research question was the suggestions for the lecturer from Microteaching students. Overall, the students suggested that it would be better if the feedback was given directly after their performance. Additionally, oral and written feedback; whether it was individually or in front of the class, would be more appropriate to be given, according to the students. The reason was that it is complementary one and another; the oral feedback made clear the written one. As a result, it could be a complete feedback which was provided for the students.

B. Suggestions

Feedback as an important part of learning process, especially in Microteaching, could bring about an improvement on students’ teaching performance. The feedback can be useful if every aspect of Microteaching class supports each other. Therefore, in this part, the writer attempted to give some suggestions which hopefully could contribute to the development of Microteaching subject as a part 65 of English Language Education Study Program in preparing the students to be qualified teacher candidates. The suggestions were presented below.

1. For the lecturers as supervisors

a. According to the result of the questionnaire and interview, each way of each lecturer in giving feedback is considered appropriate by the students. However, it would be better if the feedback was given both in oral and individually, as well as the written one. Through oral and individual feedback, students can express what they feel; they can reveal every difficulty they found when they were teaching. Additionally, the lecturer needs to have a discussion about the feedback with the students. The lecturer can satisfy the students by giving explanation about the feedback through the discussion. They also did not need to worry their peers will know about it. The written feedback given by the lecturer also provides the students with the feedback which they can read over and over again every time they needed. b. For the lecturers, they need to keep motivating the students with suggestions and comments, and critics. The lecturer could also give compliment if the students do well. It will encourage students to do their best. A critic, somehow, can encourage them to improve it. As the result of the questionnaire, the students did need those feedbacks to improve their performance. Besides those suggestions, there were some points that might lecturers need to concern: a. Most of the students show a demand on a specific and details on the content of the feedback. The result of the questionnaires represented that some students
