MATERIAL DESCRIPTION
1.
Function of Simple Past Tense
Simple Past Tense is used to show the facts or moments which happened in past
time.
Example :
I played tennis with some guys from work yesterday.
We stayed in Shanghai for five days.
We just add “-ed” from Verb 1 (regular) in simple past tense.
Example :
jump -> jumped: The dog jumped over the fence.
walk -> walked: I walked 22 kilometers yesterday.
work -> worked: We worked together as lawyers for 15 years.

Positive Sentences
S + V2 + O + C
Example :
We watched a movie at the weekend
She arrived on Thursday
Negative Sentences
S + did not + Verb 1 + O + C
We just add did not in making negative.
Example :
