Pembenahan Sifat Fisika Tanah Entisol Dengan Perlakuan Kompos
ABSTRAK
SERA PITA LOKA : Pembenahan sifat fisika tanah Entisol dengan perlakuan
kompos, dibimbing oleh SUMONO dan DELIMA LAILAN SARI NASUTION.
Sifat fisika tanah merupakan faktor penting bagi pertumbuhan tanaman.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kompos terhadap
sifat fisika tanah Entisol. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap non
faktorial, terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, yaitu K1 = tanah Entisol 10 kg
tanpa kompos, K2 = 9 kg tanah Entisol + 1 kg kompos, K3 = 8 kg tanah Entisol +
2 kg kompos, K4 = 7 kg tanah Entisol + 3 kg kompos, K5 = 6 kg tanah Entisol + 4
kg kompos dan K6 = 5 kg tanah Entisol + 5 kg kompos. Parameter yang diamati
meliputi tekstur tanah, bahan organik, tebal tanah, porositas tanah, ukuran pori
tanah, permeabilitas tanah dan air tersedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis
tanah Entisol adalah bertekstur pasir berlempung, bahan organik tanah berkisar
0,74 ‒ 4,69%, tebal tanah berkisar 13,83 ‒ 20,16 cm, porositas berkisar 16 ‒ 37%,
ukuran pori tanah berkisar 2,859 ‒ 5,493 µ m, permeabilitas berkisar 1,24 ‒ 5,64
cm/jam dan air tersedia 6,67 ‒ 9,12%.

ABSTRACT
SERA PITA LOKA : Revamping the physical properties of Entisol soil with
compost treatment. Supervised by SUMONO and DELIMA LAILAN SARI
NASUTION.
Physical characteristic of Entisol soil is an important factor for the growth of
plant. The objective of this research was to know the effect of compost application
on physical characteristics of Entisol soil. The design used was completely
randomized design consist of 6 (six) treatments and 3 replications that is K1= 10
kg Entisol soil without compost, K2= 9 Kg Entisol soil + 1 kg compost, K3= 8 kg
Entisol soil + 2 kg compost, K4= 7 kg Entisol soil + 3 kg compost, K5= 6 kg
Entisol soil + 4 kg compost and K6= 5 kg Entisol soil + 5 kg compost . The
observed parameters were soil texture, soil organic matter, soil thickness,
porosity, soil pore size, soil permeability and water availability. The results
showed that the soil type was Entisol with loam sandy texture, soil organic matter
was from 0,74 to 4,69%, soil thickness was from 13,83 to 20,16 cm, porosity was
from 16 to 37 % , soil pore size was from 2,859 to 5,493 µm, permeability was
from 1,24 to 5,64 cm/jam and water availability was from 6,67 to 9,12%.
