Imlek
Imlek adalah hari tahun baru di kalender Cina, yang biasanya dirayakan oleh
seluruh orang Tionghua di seluruh dunia. Perayaan Imlek biasa dimeriahkan oleh
banyak ciri khas, seperti kue-kue khas Cina, barongsai, dan ang pao, serta lampion.
Dan pada saat malam Imlek, biasanya satu keluarga akan berkumpul dan makan
bersama dan bersembahyang kepada dewa di langit untuk meminta rezeki dan
keselamatan di tahun yang baru. Di tahun baru, biasanya para kerabat akan
berdatangan ke rumah orang yang lebih tua (misalnya abang, kakek, ibu, paman, dll.).
Dan bagi anak-anak yang belum menikah, biasanya akan diberikan angpao dari orang
yang telah menikah, dan jika seseorang telah menikah, dia diwajibkan memberi
angpao kepada orang yang lebih tua darinya (khusus paman, bibi, ayah, ibu, dll.)
kecuali kakak dan sepupu. Ang pao sendiri adalah lambang kesejahteraan.
Pada hari Imlek, biasanya kita dan kerabat akan saling bertemu di rumah
orang yang tertua (baik itu orang tua, ataupun kakak yang tertua). Di sana biasanya
satu keluarga besar akan berkumpul dan saling bercerita tentang sesuatu atau hal-hal
yang menarik perhatian bersama. Dan ada barongsai yang berupa naga yang menari
mengikuti musik yang didengungkan. Barongsai ini menjadi lambang kemakmuran
bagi orang Cina dan identik dengan kebahagiaan. Saat ini, ada banyak kelompok
barongsai di Indonesia, dan saat Imlek mereka sama-sama menunjukkan kebolehan
mereka. Ada kue-kue yang biasa disajikan di rumah saat Imlek dan kebanyakan
adalah buatan Cina seperti, manisan, kue nanas, kuaci, kacang arab, kuping gajah,
cornfleks, dll.
Warna yang paling identik dengan Imlek adalah warna merah, yang
melambangkan kesejahteraan, keberanian, kemakmuran, dan keberhasilan dan
biasanya pada saat Imlek, semua orang Tionghua akan memakai warna merah dan
mereka akan membersihkan badan (mandi) sebelum tamu datang, dengan catatan
tidak boleh mencuci rambut karena dianggap menghilangkan keberuntungan, serta
tidak boleh menyapu rumah dengan alasan yang sama.
Menurut kalender china, terdapat dua belas buah shio yang bergantian setiap
tahun baru. Dua belas shio itu dengan urutan tertentu, yaitu tikus, kerbau, harimau,
kelinci, naga, ular, kambing, kuda, monyet, ayam, anjing dan kerbau. Dan setiap
perbedaan enam (misalnya naga dan anjing) saling bertentangan dan biasanya bisa
berubah kesialan. Untuk menghindari hal itu, biasanya umat Tionghua akan
bersembahyang khusus untuk mencegah hal itu. Dan ada kepercayaan bahwa angka 3,
6, 9 di belakang angka usia (misalnya 13, 16, 19) tidak bagus dan pantang untuk
menikah di umur itu.

Di Indonesia sendiri, perayaan Imlek dilarang pada dulunya, yaitu zaman
presiden Soekarno dan Soeharto. Barulah pada tahun 2001, saat Abdurrahman Wahid
menjadi presiden, perayaan Imlek diperbolehkan dan Imlek dijadikan hari libur
nasional, dan sampai sekarang perayaannya makin meriah dari tahun ke tahun.

Chinese Lunar New Year
At the night before Chinese Lunar New Year, people do many kinds of
activities in order to welcome the New Year. Some people hang lanterns in front of
their house. Many people launch fire works. There are even people who sell New
Year decorations on the roadside.
Red is the symbolic color during Chinese Lunar New Year. It symbolized
happiness. Many people wear red clothes. Even at that period, adults give children
red envelopes, which is called angpao. Angpao contains money, but the red envelope
means happiness.
There is a tale that tells about the usage of fireworks and red color during
Chinese Lunar New Year. Once upon a time , there lived an evil beast called Nian. It
welled in the mountains and always terrorized nearby village at the New Year eve.
When it attacked, it will bring sorrow towards the villagers. One day, right before the
New Year eve, all villagers have left the village, except an old man. He said, ”I will
banish that beast once and for all”. At midnight, Nian approached the village. There
was no sense of life except for a house. Nian made his way to that house but he was
afraid to enter it. The house was decorated with red ornaments. The old man inside
the house made noise and launched fireworks to the air, scaring off the beast. Nian
eventually escaped and never bothered them anymore.
On the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year, relatives will visit the oldest of
the family. The environment becomes very crowded. When relatives arrive, we will
greet each other by saying “Kiong Hi”. People that have married will then give red
envelopes to the people who haven’t married. On the second day, the older will visit
the younger. On the third, people will either visit friends or be visited.
The eighth day is the day to offer prayers to the Jade Emperor of Heaven. It
is done at midnight with offering such as sugarcane, as well as fruits, candies, and

cakes. This day is very important to Hokkiens but now this activity is also done by
every Chinese people.
The fifteenth day is the last day of Chinese Lunar New Year. People will
pray with offering like fruits and cakes. This marks the end of the Chinese New Year

My Experience On Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year is the biggest day or celebration and is eagerly awaited by
Tionghoa tribe. Many famous activities are normally carried on Lunar New Year.
Before the day of Lunar New Year, which is often called “sa cap meh” everybody will
usually gather at their grandma or grandpa’s house to eat. Some people will go to a
restaurant to celebrate the Lunar New Year together. Prior to the first day of Lunar
new Year, precisely at 12 o’clock midnight , everybody will pray and prepare several
kinds of cakes and fruits to give to “thi kong, kuan im, te cu kong” in order to signify
the Tionghoa people’s grateful. After the pray time, people can usually hear and see
fireworks which symbolize Tionghoa people are ready and enthusiast to undergo the
Lunar New Year. Usually, the first day of Lunar New Year Tionghoa people will visit
their family or relative’s houses first then their friend’s house. The matter which the
children like the most is getting the “angpao” which was the Tionghoa people’s

My experience on Lunar New Year was very interesting this year if
compared with other Lunar New Year which I’d ever been through. When “sa cap
meh”, my family and I gathered at my grandma’s house to eat. In the afternoon, my
family held their own events in a restaurant and like other families, I followed my
family to pray at 12 o’clock in the midnight.. Finally, the day which I waited eagerly
I had come. I wore my new and best dress and went to my grandma’s house, I
immediately say “kiong hi” to my grandma, uncle, aunty, and cousins. After hearing
the word “kiong hi” which was out from my mouth, they one by one directly took out
the “angpao” or red pocket and gave it to me. On the next day, I visited my other
relative’s house. On the third day, I had a promise with my classmates to visit my
friends’ house respectively. I passed that day happily. All day long, I visited my
friends’ house, ate lunch together and played a “yakuza’ game. In my opinion, this
Lunar New Year is really fun and meaningful to me . Although, this year is my last
year to celebrate with my friends because in this year I will graduate my senior high
school and continue my study abroad. I wish that I can still spend my time with my

Pengalaman yang sempurna direalisasikan dalam klausa
yang terdiri atas tiga unsur, yaitu proses (setara verba),
partisipan (setara subjek atau objek), dan sirkumstan
(setara keterangan)
Proses material atau proses kegiatan yang mempunyai
partisipan dalam klausa dapat dilacak dengan
pertanyaan: apa yang telah terjadi? Ada apa? Atau, apa
yang terjadi?
Di dalam klausa, proses mental ditandai dengan
kehadiran partisipan seorang manusia atau mirip
manusia yang terlibat dalam proses melihat, merasa
atau memikir.
Di dalam bahasa Indonesia, proses relasional sebagai
proses penghubung atau penanda being tidak lazim
digunakan namun secara gramatika bentuk ini tetap
hadir dalam klausa.
Aspek sirkumstan yang setara dengan keterangan
(adverbia) merupakan lingkungan, sifat, atau lokasi
berlangsungnya proses material, mental, dan relasional.
Inti dari suatu pengalaman adalah proses karena selain
proses menentukan jumlah dan kategori partisipan juga
menentukan sirkumstan secara tak langsung dengan
tingkat probabilitas.
Apabila dua penutur menggunakan bahasa untuk
berinteraksi, satu hal yang mereka lakukan adalah
menjalin hubungan sosial di antara mereka dengan
menggunakan struktur klausa yang selengkaplengkapnya.
Di dalam memaparkan dan mempertukarkan
pengalaman, struktur klausa memerlukan modalitas atau
kata-kata yang bermakna pandangan, pertimbangan,
atau pendapat pribadi terhadap pengalaman yang
dipertukarkan, seperti kata pasti, mungkin, barangkali,
selalu, wajib, atau ingin.
Untuk merangkai pesan dalam klausa, dua aspek tata
bahasa digunakan adalah Tema (titik awal suatu pesan

Bentuk tunggal merupakan bentuk tak bermarkah
sedangkan bentuk jamak merupakan bentuk bermarkah

tangan, ekspresi wajah, dan langkah kaki).
Peran bahasa dalam interaksi bergantung pada kesiapan
pemakai bahasa merencanakan, mengefektifkan, dan
memilih media dalam merealisasikan bahasa.
Peran bahasa yang positif terjadi apabila interaksi
antarpemakai bahasa dapat terjadi dengan skenario yang
telah direncanakan lebih dahulu.
Peran bahasa yang negatif terjadi apabila interaksi
antarpemakai bahasa dapat terjadi sebagaimana adanya
atau berlangsung secara spontan.
Faktor jarak waktu dan tempat sangat menentukan
dalam memberikan umpan balik antarpemakai bahasa
dan keikutsertaan bahasa dengan realitas yang
diwakilinya.
Faktor jarak dan waktu tidak menghalangi pemakai

Teks yang digunakan dapat langsung mewakili aktivitas

tayangan berita televisi.
Medium yang paling efektif dalam merealisasikan
bahasa dalam konteks adalah bahasa lisan.
Konteks budaya pemakai bahasa menentukan apa yang
boleh dilakukan oleh partisipan tertentu dengan cara
tertentu pula.
Di dalam usaha mencapai tujuan, pemakai bahasa
memerlukan tahap atau struktur teks karena pemakai
bahasa tidak mungkin mencapai suatu tujuan hanya
dengan sekali ucap.
Pemakai bahasa mempertimbangkan konteks ideologi
atau konsep sosial yang menyatakan apa yang
seharusnya dilakukan atau seharusnya tidak dilakukan
seseorang sebagai anggota masyarakat.
Teks merupakan realisasi ideologi dan ideologi dapat
dilacak dalam teks.

Imlek
Imlek adalah hari tahun baru di kalender Cina, yang biasanya dirayakan oleh
seluruh orang Tionghua di seluruh dunia. Perayaan Imlek biasa dimeriahkan oleh
banyak ciri khas, seperti kue-kue khas Cina, barongsai, dan ang pao, serta lampion.
Dan pada saat malam Imlek, biasanya satu keluarga akan berkumpul dan makan
bersama dan bersembahyang kepada dewa di langit untuk meminta rezeki dan
keselamatan di tahun yang baru. Di tahun baru, biasanya para kerabat akan
berdatangan ke rumah orang yang lebih tua (misalnya abang, kakek, ibu, paman, dll.).
Dan bagi anak-anak yang belum menikah, biasanya akan diberikan angpao dari orang
yang telah menikah, dan jika seseorang telah menikah, dia diwajibkan memberi
angpao kepada orang yang lebih tua darinya (khusus paman, bibi, ayah, ibu, dll.)
kecuali kakak dan sepupu. Ang pao sendiri adalah lambang kesejahteraan.
Pada hari Imlek, biasanya kita dan kerabat akan saling bertemu di rumah
orang yang tertua (baik itu orang tua, ataupun kakak yang tertua). Di sana biasanya
satu keluarga besar akan berkumpul dan saling bercerita tentang sesuatu atau hal-hal
yang menarik perhatian bersama. Dan ada barongsai yang berupa naga yang menari
mengikuti musik yang didengungkan. Barongsai ini menjadi lambang kemakmuran
bagi orang Cina dan identik dengan kebahagiaan. Saat ini, ada banyak kelompok
barongsai di Indonesia, dan saat Imlek mereka sama-sama menunjukkan kebolehan
mereka. Ada kue-kue yang biasa disajikan di rumah saat Imlek dan kebanyakan
adalah buatan Cina seperti, manisan, kue nanas, kuaci, kacang arab, kuping gajah,
cornfleks, dll.
Warna yang paling identik dengan Imlek adalah warna merah, yang
melambangkan kesejahteraan, keberanian, kemakmuran, dan keberhasilan dan
biasanya pada saat Imlek, semua orang Tionghua akan memakai warna merah dan
mereka akan membersihkan badan (mandi) sebelum tamu datang, dengan catatan
tidak boleh mencuci rambut karena dianggap menghilangkan keberuntungan, serta
tidak boleh menyapu rumah dengan alasan yang sama.
Menurut kalender china, terdapat dua belas buah shio yang bergantian setiap
tahun baru. Dua belas shio itu dengan urutan tertentu, yaitu tikus, kerbau, harimau,
kelinci, naga, ular, kambing, kuda, monyet, ayam, anjing dan kerbau. Dan setiap
perbedaan enam (misalnya naga dan anjing) saling bertentangan dan biasanya bisa
berubah kesialan. Untuk menghindari hal itu, biasanya umat Tionghua akan
bersembahyang khusus untuk mencegah hal itu. Dan ada kepercayaan bahwa angka 3,
6, 9 di belakang angka usia (misalnya 13, 16, 19) tidak bagus dan pantang untuk
menikah di umur itu.

Di Indonesia sendiri, perayaan Imlek dilarang pada dulunya, yaitu zaman
presiden Soekarno dan Soeharto. Barulah pada tahun 2001, saat Abdurrahman Wahid
menjadi presiden, perayaan Imlek diperbolehkan dan Imlek dijadikan hari libur
nasional, dan sampai sekarang perayaannya makin meriah dari tahun ke tahun.

Chinese Lunar New Year
At the night before Chinese Lunar New Year, people do many kinds of
activities in order to welcome the New Year. Some people hang lanterns in front of
their house. Many people launch fire works. There are even people who sell New
Year decorations on the roadside.
Red is the symbolic color during Chinese Lunar New Year. It symbolized
happiness. Many people wear red clothes. Even at that period, adults give children
red envelopes, which is called angpao. Angpao contains money, but the red envelope
means happiness.
There is a tale that tells about the usage of fireworks and red color during
Chinese Lunar New Year. Once upon a time , there lived an evil beast called Nian. It
welled in the mountains and always terrorized nearby village at the New Year eve.
When it attacked, it will bring sorrow towards the villagers. One day, right before the
New Year eve, all villagers have left the village, except an old man. He said, ”I will
banish that beast once and for all”. At midnight, Nian approached the village. There
was no sense of life except for a house. Nian made his way to that house but he was
afraid to enter it. The house was decorated with red ornaments. The old man inside
the house made noise and launched fireworks to the air, scaring off the beast. Nian
eventually escaped and never bothered them anymore.
On the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year, relatives will visit the oldest of
the family. The environment becomes very crowded. When relatives arrive, we will
greet each other by saying “Kiong Hi”. People that have married will then give red
envelopes to the people who haven’t married. On the second day, the older will visit
the younger. On the third, people will either visit friends or be visited.
The eighth day is the day to offer prayers to the Jade Emperor of Heaven. It
is done at midnight with offering such as sugarcane, as well as fruits, candies, and

cakes. This day is very important to Hokkiens but now this activity is also done by
every Chinese people.
The fifteenth day is the last day of Chinese Lunar New Year. People will
pray with offering like fruits and cakes. This marks the end of the Chinese New Year

My Experience On Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year is the biggest day or celebration and is eagerly awaited by
Tionghoa tribe. Many famous activities are normally carried on Lunar New Year.
Before the day of Lunar New Year, which is often called “sa cap meh” everybody will
usually gather at their grandma or grandpa’s house to eat. Some people will go to a
restaurant to celebrate the Lunar New Year together. Prior to the first day of Lunar
new Year, precisely at 12 o’clock midnight , everybody will pray and prepare several
kinds of cakes and fruits to give to “thi kong, kuan im, te cu kong” in order to signify
the Tionghoa people’s grateful. After the pray time, people can usually hear and see
fireworks which symbolize Tionghoa people are ready and enthusiast to undergo the
Lunar New Year. Usually, the first day of Lunar New Year Tionghoa people will visit
their family or relative’s houses first then their friend’s house. The matter which the
children like the most is getting the “angpao” which was the Tionghoa people’s
tradition. Although, there is one thing the needs to be noted and remembered, which
is the people who haven’t married yet should not give “angpao” to children because
that matter is assumed to be a taboo. Lunar New Year was assumed to end after the
15 th day and some people close that day by praying.

My experience on Lunar New Year was very interesting this year if
compared with other Lunar New Year which I’d ever been through. When “sa cap
meh”, my family and I gathered at my grandma’s house to eat. In the afternoon, my
family held their own events in a restaurant and like other families, I followed my
family to pray at 12 o’clock in the midnight.. Finally, the day which I waited eagerly
I had come. I wore my new and best dress and went to my grandma’s house, I
immediately say “kiong hi” to my grandma, uncle, aunty, and cousins. After hearing
the word “kiong hi” which was out from my mouth, they one by one directly took out
the “angpao” or red pocket and gave it to me. On the next day, I visited my other
relative’s house. On the third day, I had a promise with my classmates to visit my
friends’ house respectively. I passed that day happily. All day long, I visited my
friends’ house, ate lunch together and played a “yakuza’ game. In my opinion, this
Lunar New Year is really fun and meaningful to me . Although, this year is my last
year to celebrate with my friends because in this year I will graduate my senior high
school and continue my study abroad. I wish that I can still spend my time with my

Pengalaman yang sempurna direalisasikan dalam klausa
yang terdiri atas tiga unsur, yaitu proses (setara verba),
partisipan (setara subjek atau objek), dan sirkumstan
(setara keterangan)
Proses material atau proses kegiatan yang mempunyai
partisipan dalam klausa dapat dilacak dengan
pertanyaan: apa yang telah terjadi? Ada apa? Atau, apa
yang terjadi?
Di dalam klausa, proses mental ditandai dengan
kehadiran partisipan seorang manusia atau mirip
manusia yang terlibat dalam proses melihat, merasa
atau memikir.
Di dalam bahasa Indonesia, proses relasional sebagai
proses penghubung atau penanda being tidak lazim
digunakan namun secara gramatika bentuk ini tetap
hadir dalam klausa.
Aspek sirkumstan yang setara dengan keterangan
(adverbia) merupakan lingkungan, sifat, atau lokasi
berlangsungnya proses material, mental, dan relasional.
Inti dari suatu pengalaman adalah proses karena selain
proses menentukan jumlah dan kategori partisipan juga
menentukan sirkumstan secara tak langsung dengan
tingkat probabilitas.
Apabila dua penutur menggunakan bahasa untuk
berinteraksi, satu hal yang mereka lakukan adalah
menjalin hubungan sosial di antara mereka dengan
menggunakan struktur klausa yang selengkaplengkapnya.
Di dalam memaparkan dan mempertukarkan
pengalaman, struktur klausa memerlukan modalitas atau
kata-kata yang bermakna pandangan, pertimbangan,
atau pendapat pribadi terhadap pengalaman yang
dipertukarkan, seperti kata pasti, mungkin, barangkali,
selalu, wajib, atau ingin.
Untuk merangkai pesan dalam klausa, dua aspek tata
bahasa digunakan adalah Tema (titik awal suatu pesan

Bentuk tunggal merupakan bentuk tak bermarkah
sedangkan bentuk jamak merupakan bentuk bermarkah
karena bentuk tunggal lebih sederhana dari bentuk
jamak sehingga menjadi pilihan yang efektif dalam
menyampaikan pesan komunikasi.
Frekuensi pemakaian kalimat aktif merupakan kalimat
tak bermarkah sedangkan kalimat pasif merupakan
kalimat bermarkah karena kalimat aktif merupakan

sedangkan kalimat pasif digunakan terbatas pada
konteks tertentu;

yang direalisasikan dengan bahasa (seperti kelisanan
dan keberaksaraan) dan bukan bahasa (seperti gerak
tangan, ekspresi wajah, dan langkah kaki).
Peran bahasa dalam interaksi bergantung pada kesiapan
pemakai bahasa merencanakan, mengefektifkan, dan
memilih media dalam merealisasikan bahasa.
Peran bahasa yang positif terjadi apabila interaksi
antarpemakai bahasa dapat terjadi dengan skenario yang
telah direncanakan lebih dahulu.
Peran bahasa yang negatif terjadi apabila interaksi
antarpemakai bahasa dapat terjadi sebagaimana adanya
atau berlangsung secara spontan.
Faktor jarak waktu dan tempat sangat menentukan
dalam memberikan umpan balik antarpemakai bahasa
dan keikutsertaan bahasa dengan realitas yang
diwakilinya.
Faktor jarak dan waktu tidak menghalangi pemakai
bahasa dalam memberikan umpan balik.
Teks yang digunakan dapat langsung mewakili aktivitas
yang berlangsung, seperti liputan langsung pada
tayangan berita televisi.
Medium yang paling efektif dalam merealisasikan
bahasa dalam konteks adalah bahasa lisan.
Konteks budaya pemakai bahasa menentukan apa yang
boleh dilakukan oleh partisipan tertentu dengan cara
tertentu pula.
Di dalam usaha mencapai tujuan, pemakai bahasa
memerlukan tahap atau struktur teks karena pemakai
bahasa tidak mungkin mencapai suatu tujuan hanya
dengan sekali ucap.
Pemakai bahasa mempertimbangkan konteks ideologi
atau konsep sosial yang menyatakan apa yang
seharusnya dilakukan atau seharusnya tidak dilakukan
seseorang sebagai anggota masyarakat.
Teks merupakan realisasi ideologi dan ideologi dapat
dilacak dalam teks.
