Key Words: Writing Ability and Chronological 3D Pictures.
Writing is one of basic ability as it is very important for teaching and

learning English in the school. Writing involves some language components they
are spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation. Writing ability is an
important skill in English lesson for the students because it can help the students
think critically and make it easier, and express their feeling through writing, and
sort the order for the experience.
The purpose of the research is to find out the answer from the statement of
the problem; First, can Chronological 3D Pictures improve student’s writing
ability of the tenth grade students of MA NU TBS Kudus in academic year
2013/2014. Second,How is the implementation of improving the writing ability of
the tenth grade Students of MA NU TBS Kudus in Academic Year 2013/2014
Chronological 3D Pictures.
The design of the research is classroom action research. The research
conducted in MA NU TBS Kudus. Subject of the research is the grade X-A in
second semester. The material used is Narrative text. The writer uses some
instrument in this research. They are observation and achievement test by using
Chronological 3D Pictures.
The KKM in MA NU TBS Kudus is 70 andthe result of this research
shows that the improvement occurs in every cycle. In cycle I, the average score of
achievement test of writing ability by using Chronological 3D Pictures is 69.23
then the average from 69.23 into percentage to be 69.23%. The average score of

achievement test of writing ability by using Chronological 3D Pictures in cycle II
is 78.97 then the average score from 78.97 into percentage to be 78.97%, so the
writing ability in cycle II is very satisfying. The writer concluded that
Chronological 3D Pictures as a media of teaching English had proven effective in
improving the ability of English writing of the students of MA NU TBS Kudus in
academic year 2013/2014.
Based on the result of the research above, the writer suggests that English
teachers should use an interesting media in teaching and learning process. The
students should be more creative and confident in exploring and expressing their

own ideas through written language. It is to make students enjoy and participate
actively in the class. So it can improve their writing ability.

Menulis adalah salah satu kemampuan dasar karena sangat penting untuk
mengajar dan belajar bahasa Inggris di sekolah. Menulis melibatkan beberapa
komponen bahasa diantaranya adalah ejaan, tata bahasa, kosa kata, dan tanda
baca. Kemampuan menulis merupakan keterampilan penting dalam pelajaran
bahasa Inggris bagi siswa karena dapat membantu siswa berpikir kritis dan
membuatnya lebih mudah, dan mengekspresikan perasaan mereka melalui tulisan,
dan menyusun urutan untuk pengalaman.
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui jawaban dari pernyataan masalah;
Pertama, dapatkah Chronological 3D Pictures meningkatkan kemampuan menulis
dari siswa kelas sepuluh di MA NU TBS Kudus pada tahun Akademik 2013/2014.
Kedua, bagaimana pelaksanaan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa
kelas sepuluh di MA NU TBS Kudus Tahun Akademik 2013/2014 Chronological
3D Pictures.
Model penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). penelitian ini
dilaksanakan di MA NU TBS Kudus. Subyek penelitian adalah kelas X-A di
semester kedua. Bahan yang digunakan adalah teks Narrative. Penulis
menggunakan beberapa instrumen dalam penelitian ini. Instrument tersebut adalah
observasi dan tes menggunakan Chronological 3D Pictures.
KKM di MA NU TBS Kudus adalah 70 dan hasil penelitian ini
menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan terjadi di setiap siklus. Pada siklus I, nilai ratarata tes prestasi kemampuan menulis menggunakan Chronological 3D Pictures
adalah 69,23 maka rata-rata dari 69,23 menjadi persentase menjadi 69,23%. Ratarata dari tes prestasi kemampuan menulis dengan menggunakan Chronological 3D
Pictures pada siklus II adalah 78,97 maka nilai rata-rata dari 78,97 menjadi
persentase menjadi 78,97%, sehingga kemampuan menulis pada siklus II sangat
puas. Penulis menyimpulkan bahwa Chronological 3D Pictures sebagai media
pengajaran bahasa Inggris telah terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan
menulis bahasa Inggris siswa dari MA NU TBS Kudus pada tahun akademik
2013/2014.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas, penulis menunjukkan bahwa guru
bahasa Inggris harus menggunakan media yang menarik dalam proses belajar
mengajar. Para siswa harus lebih kreatif dan percaya diri dalam mengeksplorasi
dan mengekspresikan ide-ide mereka sendiri melalui bahasa tertulis. Ini membuat
siswa senang dan ikut serta aktif di kelas. Sehingga dapat meningkatkan
kemampuan menulis mereka.
