ABSTRACT
Revegetation is conducted in many different ways based on technology and location.
Some revegetation applied by using plant seedlings or seed of plants. In this study we used a
technology of seed bags and soil protection sheet that we called multi-function sheet. This
technology adapted from Takino Filter Inc Japan and used symbiotic microorganism of
mycorrhizal fungi. The results of this study show that the mycorrhizal fungi can be combined
with plant seeds used the multi-function sheet and used in the revegetation. In the first period of
three months in the rainy season the growth plants such as Gamelina, Eucalyptus, Pine,
Leucaena, and jack fruits were very well compared to the bare area (area without sheet). Even,
in the dry season the plant growth still continue indicating that the multi-function sheet still keep
the water . On the hand, in the bare area the plant were turn brown indicating that the plants
have died due to lack of water. The surface soil erosion trapped by the sheet was up to 5 cm per
year. This results suggested that the multi-function sheet can be used in the revegetation
program.
