PENGARUH MODEL COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING
AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) DAN COOPERATIVE SCRIPT
TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN
SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman
siswa di Sekolah Dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh model
CIRC dan model Cooperative Script terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman
siswa sekolah dasar.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen
dengan desain yang digunakan adalah “prstest-posttest two treatment desaign”.
Populasi sekaligus sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV
Sekolah Dasar Negeri Karangreja 04 Kabupaten Bekasi. Teknik pengambilan
sampel yaitu dengan teknik sampling jenuh dimana semua populasi dijadikan
sampel. Intrumen yang digunakan berupa prates dan pascates dan lembar
observasi. Pengumpulan data penelitian diambil dari tes kemampuan membaca
pemahaman siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil penelitian sebagai
berikut, pertama adalah penerapan model pembelajaran CIRC dan Cooperative

Script terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa
secara signifikan. Kedua, penerapan model pembelajaran CIRC terbukti lebih baik
dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dibandingkan dengan
model Cooperative Scrip.

Kata Kunci: Model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC),
model Cooperative Script, kemampuan membaca pemahaman.

COMPOSITION (CIRC) AND COOPERATIVE SCRIPT
ON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS’
COMPREHENSIVE READING ABILITY

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted based on students’ low achievement in
comprehensive Reading ability. As the research objective was to find out the
effect of CIRC and Cooperative Script on elementary school students’ ability in
comprehensive reading ability. This reseach used quase-experimental method
with pretest-postest two treatment design. As the population and sample of the
research was the fourth graders of SDN Karangreja 04 the Regency of Bekasi.
The sampling technique used was saturated sampling which all the population
became the sample. The instruments used were pre-test, post-test, and
observation. Research data
were
gathered
from the test of students’
comprehension reading ability. According to the data analyses, the researcher
found the following facts, first CIRC and Cooperative Script could increase the
srudents ability in comprehension reading significantly, second it was proven that
CIRC increased Students’ ability in comprehensive reading better than
Cooperative Script.
