Respons Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Sorgum Manis (Shorgum bicolor (L.) Moench) Terhadap Pemberian Mulsa dan Bahan Organik

ABSTRACT

NOVRIZAL SIREGAR : Response of Growth and Production Sweet Sorghum
(Shorgum bicolor (L.) Moench) by Mulch Treatments and Organic Material,
guided by: T. IRMANSYAH and MARIATI. This research was conducted at
experimental field, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, Medan
with altitude ± 25 metre above sea level began from April 2015 until August 2015.
Using with split plot design, they are Mulch (M) with treatments are M0 (Without
Mulch), M1 (Hay Mulch) and Organic Material (B) with treatments are B0
(Without Organic Material), B1 (Empty Fruit Bunch Compost), B2 (Chicken
Manure), B3 (Empty Fruit Bunch Compost + Chicken Manure). Parameters
observed were plant lenght, leaves number, stem diameter, days of flowering, seed
weight per sample, seed weight per plot and weight of 1000 seeds. The result
showed that mulch treatments were significantly affected for leaves number on 5
and 6 weeks after planting and were not significant for plant length, stem
diameter, days of flowering, seed weight per sample, seed weight per plot, and
weight of 1000 seeds. Organic Material Treatments were significantly affected for
plant lenght on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 weeks after planting, leaves number on 2
and 3 weeks after planting, stem diameter on 2 weeks after planting and were not
significantly affected for days of flowering, seed weight per sample, seed weight
per plot and weight of 1000 seeds. Interaction between mulching treatment and

organic material treatment were not significantly affected for all of parameters.

NOVRIZAL SIREGAR : Respons Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Sorgum Manis
(Shorgum bicolor (L.) Moench) Terhadap Pemberian Mulsa Dan Bahan Organik,
dibimbing oleh : T. IRMANSYAH dan MARIATI. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di
lahan percobaan, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Kota Medan
dengan ketinggian tempat ± 25 meter di atas permukaan laut (dpl ) pada bulan
April 2015 sampai dengan Agustus 2015, menggunakan rancangan petak terbagi
dengan dua faktor yaitu mulsa (M) dengan perlakuan M0 (tanpa mulsa), M1
(mulsa jerami padi) dan bahan organik (B) dengan perlakuan B0 (tanpa bahan
organik), B1 (kompos TKKS), B2 (pupuk kandang ayam), B3 (kompos TKKS +
pupuk kandang ayam). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah
daun, diameter batang, umur berbunga, produksi per sempel, Produksi Per Anak
Petak, dan bobot 1000 biji. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Perlakuan
mulsa berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter jumlah daun 5 dan 6 MST, dan tidak
berpengaruh nyata pada parameter tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, umur

berbunga, Produksi Per Sampel, Produksi Per Anak Petak, dan bobot 1000 biji.
Perlakuan bahan organik nyata pada parameter tinggi tanaman 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,dan 9
MST, jumlah daun 2 dan 3 MST, diameter batang 2 MST, dan tidak berpengaruh
nyata pada parameter umur berbunga, Produksi Per Sampel, Produksi Per Anak
Petak dan bobot 1000 biji. Interaksi antara perlakuan mulsa dan perlakuan bahan
organik berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pengamatan yang
dilakukan.
