ABSTRACT
This paper has a title " The Efforts of Jonas to Restore His Community Become
Real Life from Fantasy Life by Lawry, L. The Giver " discuss about the struggles
of the main character in The Giver novel by Lois Lawry. A struggle to restore the
fantasy life of the community into the real world; previous life which was a
perfect world. The world that there is no war, fear, or pain. In the writing of the
paper this paper, the author uses descriptive method and the intrinsic approach.
All of the data that has been taken, I have collected, analysis, and concluded in a
descriptive paper to support for this work. The author hope readers can understand
the elements in the novel.

ABSTRAK
Kertas karya yang berjudul “ The Efforts of Jonas to Restore His Community
Become Real Life from Fantasy Life by Lawry, L. The Giver “ ini membahas
tentang perjuangan tokoh utama yang terdapat di dalam novel The Giver karya
Lois Lawry. Sebuah perjuangan untuk mengembalikan kehidupan fantasi
dikomunitasnya kedalam dunia nyata; yang mana kehidupan sebelumnya adalah
sebuah dunia yang sempurna. Dunia yang tidak ada perang, ketakutan, atau

kesakitan. Dalam penulisan kertas karya ini, penulis menggunakan metode
deskriptif dan pendekatan intrinsik. Semua data yang telah diambil, saya
kumpulkan, analisis, dan disimpulkan secara deskriptif untuk mendukng kertas
karya ini. Penulis berharap pembaca dapat mengerti unsur – unsur di dalam novel.
