ABSTRACT
This paper entitled “The Analysis of Transgender’s Language in Medan” which is
currently popular and become trend of slang. This paper is supposed to describe
transgender language in Medan. In writing of this paper, the method applied is
field research so the data collected from the information from some informants
who are wadams. The results of this study show that language between
transgender comunity is created as a communication means to interact between
their community. Transgender language used is that was created by community of
transgender. Transgender language also has a relationship with the Indonesian
meaning. Furthermore, the language that is by transgender used in
communicating, there is a change of meaning and have a particular pattern,
namely, symptoms of language such as addition of a syllable, removal of syllable,
and formation of new words regularly and irregularly.

Kertas karya yang berjudul “The Analysis of Transgender’s Language in Medan”
yang saat ini sedang populer dan menjadi tren bahasa gaul. Kertas karya ini
bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bahasa waria yang ada dikota medan. Penulisan
kertas karya ini menggunakan metode penelitian dengan mengumpulkan data-data
dari sejumlah informan yang mengerti tentang bahasa tersebut. Temuan penelitian
ini menunjukkan bahwa bahasa di kalangan waria diciptakan sebagai alat
komunikasi dalam berinteraksi antar kelompok mereka. Bahasa waria yang
digunakan adalah bahasa yang diciptakan oleh kelompok waria itu sendiri. Bahasa
waria juga memiliki hubungan makna dengan bahasa Indonesia. Selanjutnya,
bahasa yang digunakan waria dalam berkomunikasi terdapat perubahan makna
dan memiliki pola tertentu, yaitu gejala bahasa seperti penambahan suku kata,
penghilangan suku kata, serta pembentukan kata-kata baru secara teratur dan
tidak teratur.
