WACANA PELURUSAN SEJARAH DALAM MAJALAH TEMPO.
ABSTRAK

Sejarah dalam Majalah Tempo. Pembimbing utama DR. H. Aceng Abdullah, M.Si.,
dan pembimbing pendamping Efi Fadilah,S.Sos.,M.Pd, Jurusan Ilmu Jurnalistik,
Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor.
Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah ketertarikan peneliti pada kontroversi
sejarah PKI dan bertujuan mengetahui wacana yang ingin disampaikan oleh MBM
Tempo dengan memberitakan PKI melalui sudut pandang atau pengakuan algojo
pembantai anggota PKI. Peneliti menggunakan kajian analisis wacana kritis Norman
Fairclough sebagai metode penelitian yang memandang bahasa sebagai tempat
terjadinya wacana dan praktik kekuasaan.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pada level teks, PKI digambarkan sebagai
korban yang dibantai dengan kejam oleh para algojo. Tindakan para algojo tersebut
tidak wajar dan tidak pantas serta melanggar HAM. Pada level praktik wacana,
dijelaskan bahwa ideologi dan sejarah Tempo mempengaruhi produksi teks..
Sedangkan pada level praktik sosiokultural, bahwa Tempo sadar bahwa masih
banyak ketidakjelasan di dalam sejarah PKI dan masyarakat perlu referensi baru.
Simpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa kebebasan pers dan sistem
pemerintahan selalu menjadi dua sisi mata uang yang tidak bisa dipisahkan.

The research has a background to know the history of controversy aimed

lot of uncertainty in the history of the PKI and communities need new references.
Conclusion of this study is that the freedom of the press and the system of
government has always been two sides of a coin that can not be separated.
