korelasionaldenganjumlahsampel291orangremajadengan
teknikpengambilan
sampelyaitustratifiedrandomsampling.Pengumpulandata
menggunakan kuesioner.Analisadata menggunakankoefisien korelasiSpearman.
Hasilpenelitian ini menunjukkanbahwasebanyak137orang (47,1%)memiliki
interaksisosialbaik,dansebanyak154orang
(52,9)memilikiinteraksisosial yang
cukup,sedangkan motivasibelajaryang baiksebanyak277orang (95,2%), cukup
sebanyak 14 orang
(4,8%). Hasil uji spearmen menunjukkan bahwa
terdapathubunganpositif antarainteraksisosialdengan motivasibelajar pada
remajadenganlevelsignifikansisebesar(r)=
0,481dan(p)=0,000.

ABSTRACT
An individual social inleraction is the first step in adolescence development to
learn his social environment and to be able to develop his own interest. Social
interaction in adolescents is able to increase their learning motivation. The
objective of the research was to identify the corre/alion between adolescents'
social interaction and their learning motivation at SMA SI. Thomas I, Medan. The
research used descriptive correlation design. The .wmples were 291 adolescents
as the respondenJs, taken by using stralijied random sampling technique. The data
were gathered by using questionnaires and analyzed by using Spearman
correlation coefficient. The result of the research showed that 137 respondents
(47.1%) had good social interaction, 154 respondenrs (52.9%) had moderaJe
social interaction, 177 respondents (95.1%) had good learning motivation, and 14
respondents (4.8%) had moderate learning motivation. The result of Spearman
test showed that adolescenJs ' learning motivation was at r=0.481 and p =O.OOO
which indicated that the betler the adolescents' social interaction was, the better
their learning motivation. It is recommended that the next researchers study on
the factors which increase learning motivation in adolescents.
