UNPAD. Laporan Tugas Akhir ini berjudul “Penyelenggaraan Press Conference dalam
Kegiatan Earth Hour oleh Humas PT. PLN (Persero) Distribusi Jawa Barat dan
Banten. Dr. Susie Purbawasari, M.Si. sebagai dosen pembimbing dalam penulisan tugas
akhir ini. Program Diploma III Pendidikan Ahli Terapan (PAKT) Jurusan Kehumasan
Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran.
Tujuan pengamatan ini adalah untuk mengetahui perencanaan dalam penyelenggaran
konferensi pers kegiatan Earth Hour, untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan dalam penyelenggaraan
konferensi pers kegiatan Earth Hour, dan untuk mengetahui evaluasi pelaksanaan dalam
penyelenggaraan konferensi pers dalam kegiatan Earth Hour.
Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif yaitu metode yang hanya
memaparkan situasi atau peristiwa, dan tidak mencari atau menjelaskan hubungan, tidak
menguji hipotesis atau membuat prediksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah
observasi, wawancara dan studi pustaka.
Kesimpulan dan pembahasan Bab IV mengenai Penyelenggaraan Press Conference
dalam kegiatan Earth Hour oleh Humas PT. PLN (Persero) Distribusi Jawa Barat dan Banten
adalah perencanaan yang kurang begitu sempurna yaitu dalam menentukan media yang akan
diundang kurang efektif sebaknya dipersiapkan seminggu sebelum penyelenggaraan Press
Conference Earth Hour, lalu dalam menentukan souvenir/press kit yang hanya sekedar Press
Release. Dalam pelaksanaan press conference Earth Hour adalah sesi tanya jawab yang
kurang aktif. Lalu dalam evaluasi press conference Earth Hour sudah cukup dengan
menggunakan evaluasi media monitoring.
Saran untuk meningkatkan kegiatan konferensi pers, dalam hal ini penulis ingin
menyampaikan beberapa saran yang diharapkan dapat berguna untuk kedepannya, yaitu
sebagi berikut : Memaksimalkan perencanaan dalam kegiatan konferensi pers agar lebih
efektif untuk pelaksanaan konferensi pers berikutnya.

Public Relations PT. PLN (Persero) Distribution West Java and Banten.” Dr. Susie

Department of Public Relations Faculty of Communication Padjadjaran University.
The purpose of this observation is to know planning a press conference in organizing
Earth Hour, to examine the implementation in the organization of press conferences Earth
Hour activities, and to determine the evaluation of the implementation in the organization of
a press conference in Earth Hour activities.
The method used is descriptive method is a method that only describe a situation or
event, and do not seek or explain the relationship, not test hypotheses or make predictions.
Data collection techniques used were observation, interview and literature study.
Based on the results and discussion of Chapter IV of the Implementation Press
Conference in the Earth Hour by PR PT. PLN (Persero) Distribution West Java and Banten
is improper planning so perfect that in determining who will be invited media less effective,
should be prepared one week prior to the press conference of earth hour, than in determining
souvenir/press kit it’s just a press release. In the implementation of earth hour press
conference question and answer session which is less effective. Then in the evaluation of
press conference Earth Hour is enough to use the media monitoring evaluation.
As for suggestions to improve the activities of the press conference, in which case the
author wants to convey some of the suggestions are expected to be useful for the future,
namely as follows: Maximizing the good planning in the activities of the press conference in
order more effectively to the implementation of the subsequent press conference.
