I-Shou University, established in 1986, is located at the foothill of Guanyin
Mountain, northeast of southern Taiwan’s major harbor city–Kaohsiung.
The University currently has 9 colleges with approximately 17,000
students. There are approximately 2,300 overseas students from 48
nationalities. Apart from its modern and functional campus, I-Shou
University is also known for its natural environment.
The campus offers a wide range of facilities and restaurants. I-Shou
University is located at E-Da World, the major tourist recreation area in
Southern Taiwan.

2017

In 2010, the Webmetrics Ranking of World Universities ranked I-Shou

University the 9th out of 153 accredited universities in Taiwan, and the 1st
among private universities in Taiwan.

The Buddha Memorial Center

The Buddha Memorial Center was
constructed with the intention of the
construction commenced in 2001
enshrining the Buddha’s relic.

Flight Simulator and
E-DA World

E-DA World, which is located right beside
Quan-Yi Mountain, a scenic area of
Kaohsiung City, includes I-Shou University,
I-Shou International School, E-DA Royal
Hotel, E-DA Theme Park, E-DA Outlet Mall,

E-DA Skylark Hotel, and E-DA Royal Villa.
It’s a best vacation spots of southern
Taiwan.

Siziwan (The Sizih Bay)

Siziwan is known for its beautiful
sunset and natural reefs, and the
area includes scenic spots like the
Siziwan Beach, Seaside Park, and
the former British Consulate at
Takao. You can enjoy the view of
the sea, or gaze over Kaohsiung
Port.

Old Railroad Bridge
Education Wetland Zone

The Kaohsiung-Pingtung Old Bridge

was built by the Japanese engineer
Ilida Toyozi and completed in 1913. A
single-track railway, it was the longest
railway bridge in Asia at the time.

MLD(Metropolitan Living
Development)

It is rebuilt from an aluminum plant, witnessing
the past glory of heavy industry in Taiwan. The
old factory has been refurbished, preserving the
Y-shape RC pillar that bears the name of MLD in
this historic industrial architecture.

Meinong Folk(Hakka)
Village

The Meinong Folk Village is an oldfashioned neighborhood, you can watch
traditional crafts being made, sample
Hakka lei cha (擂茶; léi chá; pounded

tea), and purchase well-made paper
umbrellas, fans and bamboo baskets.
Hakka cooking is based around noodles
rather than rice. Rice Noodle Street is an
excellent place to try some
more authentic Hakka flavours.
