Respondent Characteristics
• Class level: VIP 196 respondents (69,1%); Class I 88
respondents (30,9%).
• Status: patients 152 respondents (53,5%); family 132
respondents (46,5%).
• Age: 60 years 93 respondents (32,8%).

CONCLUSIONS
• Hospital price is a factor that statistically signifcant
influencing the intention to upgrade service level (I to VIP) .
The trend to upgrade service level increasing 20,8% in every
existing price reduction. High wilingness to pay for higher
service level when it is needed and affordable.
• According to the result of this study 50,4% patients initially
unwilling to upgrade service level but then choose to

upgrade. Few of them because of the lack of the room, better
VIP service quality and facility completeness.

RECOMENDATION
• Quality and cost standardization at the same level of
service across hospitals is needed as well evaluating
the insurance premi for middle up economic status to
assure the appropriateness of service level and
equity.
• Monitoring and evaluation of the fulfllment of room
capasity. This is necessary in order to reduce the
possibility unserved sick participants due to lack of
rooms capasity.
