liked learning through physical activities. The students looked enjoyable during the implementation of this intelligence. However, there were some obstacles in
doing those activities. The first obstacle was that some students were very lazy to practice the physical activities. They did not want to stand up. The second
obstacle was that some students were shy in doing the physical activities in the second meeting. They were shy in expressing some feelings of the pictures given
because their friends sometimes laughed at them if they made a funny or strange expression. However, based on the interview results, there were two students who
enjoyed learning through this activity. They said that they would easily remember what they were learning by having physical activities. They felt that they had
experience directly what they were learning through those physical activities.
d. Intrapersonal Intelligence
The learning activities focusing on this intelligence were existed in the whole meetings. The intrapersonal intelligence is the ability to understand oneself,
to have an effective working model of oneself including one’s own desires, fears, and capacities; and to use such information effectively in regulating one’s own
life Gardner, 1999. Therefore, the activity which is appropriate with this intelligence is individual activity or task. In this study, the implementation of this
intelligence covered writing and listening activities. In the whole meetings, the writing and listening activities must be done individually. It was conducted in
order to give an opportunity for the students to develop their intrapersonal intelligence. By having the implementation of this intelligence, the students were
expected to have a high self-confidence. Moreover, they were trained to control
their own desires, motivation, fears, and so forth. However, it was very difficult to implement this intelligence in this class. Most students in this class were
accustomed to do some tasks with their friends. Only two or three students who wanted to do the tasks individually. Based on the observation conducting before
the study, it happened because their teacher never motivates them to do some exercises individually. The teacher asked them to do some exercises on the
Lembar Kerja Siswa LKS without observing how they did the task. The writer found that most of the students cheated to their friends who are clever by
borrowing their LKS after they had finished doing the task. During the study, the same problem happened in this class. Most of students did not want to do the
writing and listening tasks individually. They were even angry if the writer warned them and they did not want to do the tasks anymore. Based on the
interview results, most students said that they preferred to do some tasks with their friends, even only by copying their friends’ work. Based on the results of the
study, it could be concluded that the students’ intrapersonal intelligence in this class was poor.
