or naturalization, provided that such provisions do not discriminate against any particular nationality.
Article 5 In compliance with the fundamental obligations laid down in
article 2 of this Convention, States Parties undertake to prohibit and to eliminate racial discrimination in all its forms and to guarantee the right
of everyone, without distinction as to race, colour, or national or ethnic origin, to equality before the law, notably in the enjoyment of the
following rights:
c Political rights, in particular the right to participate in elections – to vote and to stand for election – on the basis of universal and equal
suffrage, to take part in the Government as well as in the conduct of public affairs at any level and to have equal access to public service;
d Other civil rights, in particular: ... iii The right to nationality;
10. Convention on the Rights of the Child in Islam
Kovenan ini menjamin hak kewarganegaraan untuk anak dan bahwa negara pihak akan melakukan segala upaya untuk menyelesaikan masalah tanpa
kewarganegaraan untuk setiap anak yang lahir di wilayah mereka atau kepada warga negara mereka diluar wilayah mereka. Ditetapkan pada Pasal 7 yang
menyatakan: Article 7: Identity
1. A child shall, from birth, have right to a good name, to be registered with authorities concerned, to have his nationality determined and to
know hisher parents, all hisher relatives and foster mother. 2. States Parties to the Covenant shall safeguard the elements of the
child’s identity, including hisher name, nationality, and family relations in accordance with their domestic laws and shall make every
effort to resolve the issue of statelessness for any child born on their territories or to any of their citizens outside their territory.
3. The child of unknown descent or who is legally assimilated to this status shall have the right to guardianship and care but without adoption. He
shall have a right to a name, title and nationality.
11. American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man
Berbunyi hampir sama dengan konvensi-konvensi lain yang menjamin hak seseorang untuk mendapatkan dan mengubah kewarganegaraan mereka, yang

12. American Convention on Human Rights
Pasal 20 konvensi ini menetapkan bahwa setiap orang memiliki hak atas kewarganegaraan dari negara dimana mereka dilahirkan jika ia tidak memiliki
kewarganegaraan dari negara lainnya. Ketentuan tersebut dapat mengurangi jumlah orang yang tidak memiliki kewarganegaraan karena ketentuan dalam pasal
tersebut tidak membedakan latar belakang kewarganegaraan orangtua dari seorang anak. Dinyatakan sebagai berikut:
Article 1: Obligation to Respect Rights 1. The States Parties to this Convention undertake to respect the rights
and freedoms recognized herein and to ensure to all persons subject to their jurisdiction the free and full exercise of those rights and freedoms,
without any discrimination for reasons of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, economic
status, birth, or any other social condition. [...]
Article 20: Right to Nationality 1. Every person has the right to a nationality.
2. Every person has the right to the nationality of the state in whose
territory he was born if he does not have the right to any other nationality.
3. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality or of the right to change it.
