5.2 Suggestions
In relation to the conclusions are suggested as the following. 1 It is suggested that the second generation should encourage the positive
attitude to their children in maintaining the addressing terms in vernacular language.
2 It is suggested that other researchers should be more concerned with the use of addressing term in vernacular languages such as Batak language, Karo
language, Javanese language, Malay language, etc. 3 It is suggested that linguistics, teachers and students especially Minangkabau
language linguists should write more books or references about addressing terms in Minangkabau language.
