ABSTRACT
SEPRIDA HANUM HARAHAP, The factors of revenue affect industrial sector in North
Sumatera, Under The Guidence Of Iskandar Syarief (Head), Jhon Tafbu Ritonga
(Member), Wahyu Ario Pratomo (Member).
This research formed to examine the factors that affected to revenue of industrial sector in
North Sumatera over period 1984-2003. This research used Ordinary Least Square (OLS)
method. The method used to discover how was the revenue factors industrial sector
affected based on ISIC (International Standard of Industrial Classification) data.
Empirical result shows that GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) industrial sector
influenced by investment and employment as the factors, investment has positively impact to
GRDP industrial sector that equal to hypothesis, instead of employment has negatively impact to
GRDP. Because, the fact that using high technology could increase the efficiency level of
employment and increase revenue industrial sector in North Sumatera. The coeficients show
ratio stage return to decreasing scale.
This research has matched by theory and supported by other researcher before and could be
a good picture of industrial sector in North Sumatera.

SEPRIDA HANUM HARAHAP, 2005, Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Penerimaan Sektor
Industri Di Sumatera Utara, dibawah bimbingan Iskandar Syarief (Ketua), Jhon Tafbu Ritonga
(Anggota), Wahyu Ario Pratomo (Anggota).
Penelitian ini menguji bagaimana faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penerimaan
sektor industri di Sumatera Utara kurun periode 1984-2003. Penelitian ini menggunakan
metode Ordinary Least Square (OLS). Metode ini digunakan untuk melihat bagaimana
faktor-faktor penerimaan sektor industri berdasarkan data ISIC (International Standard
of Industrial Classification).
Hasil empiris memperlihatkan bahwa yang mempengaruhi PDRB sektor industri
diantaranya adalah investasi dan tenaga kerja, investasi mempunyai pengaruh yang positif
terhadap PDRB sektor industri sesuai dengan hasil hipotesis, akan tetapi tenaga kerja
mempunyai pengaruh yang negatif terhadap PDRB dan hipotesis di tolak. Hal ini
dikarenakan ketidakefisienan terhadap tenaga kerja yang ada jika dibandingkan dengan
menggunakan teknologi yang canggih dan meningkatkan penerimaan sektor industri di
Sumatera Utara. Dan hasil koefisiennya menunjukkan tahapan hasil berbanding skala yang
menurun.
Penelitian ini sesuai dengan teori dan didukung oleh penelitian sebelumnya dan merupakan
gambaran dan sektor industri di Sumatera Utara.
