43 from questionnaires results in the form of open-ended and closed-ended questions
and interview results.
1. The Description of the Feedback the Students Obtained Based on the
Questionnaires Result
The researcher firstly analyzed the data gathered in the Part I. There were other six statements of close-ended questions to find out the feedback that the
students obtained from the use of observation sheet in Microteaching class. The statements were from number 17 up to 22. Table 4.3 was the distribution of the
statements and the questionnaires results.

Based on Table 4.3, general results of the questionnaires showed that the students gave positive response about the use of observation sheets. Almost all the
students received the feedback about their teaching competence. The students also
44 gave very good response on the statements number 18, 19, and 20 where total
response score was 326. Most of the students received feedback by identifying their strength and weaknesses of teaching. As the results, the students could
improve their teaching skills as stated in the statement number 20. The last statements number 21 and 22 showed the students’ attitudes toward improvement.
The total response score were 311 and 304 in which the students’ response were classified good. It represented that as the students teacher, most of the students
have done positive attitudes toward improvement by setting up goal to have better teaching performance while as the observer, they admitted that filling the
observation sheet helped them to improve their teaching practice. After analyzing the data gathered in the Part I, the researcher tried to find
supportive information about the feedback the students obtained in the Part II open-ended questions. The students’ answers were classified into five
categories. The result of data gathered in the Part II was presented in the form of table.

45 Based on Table 4.4, it was noticed that seventy-seven students 77
stated that they obtained strengths and weaknesses of their teaching performance, what went well and wrong and things that needed to be improved as feedback of
observation sheet. Thirteen students 13 explained more that they received feedback on their teaching skills such as teaching method, time management, class
management, behaviour and fluency. In addition, there were three students 3 argued that they received comments and suggestions to improve their teaching
performance. One of the students wrote, I get helpful feedback and constructive comments from my friends about
my teaching competences. Besides having feedback about my strengths and weaknesses, I also keep it so that I can read it sometimes then I can
make a better performance.respondent 90
Besides receiving feedback on their teaching performance, three students 3 also said that the feedback they obtained was a reflection on their teaching
skills. One student wrote, “I then realize that the way I was teaching needs to be improved. I can see my weaknesses and strengths and how to keep the good one
and improve the bad one.”respondent 65. The researcher found four students 4 who received only the score
percentage of their teaching performance as the feedback. One of the students said that it was because mostly he only received feedback in the form of number than
the written feedback while he felt that the form of number was confusing. He preferred to ask direct comment from his friends and lecturer. The students wrote,
Grading point. Because the feedback from observation sheets in the form of number grade is confusing and mostly I never get detail comments or
feedback in the form of written. So usually I prefer to ask directly to my friends or my lecturer about my teaching performance. respondent 83
46 As the analysis of open-ended questions above, in general the feedback the
students obtained was positive where it led to the improvement of their teaching skills. Mostly the feedbacks the students obtained were about their strengths and
weaknesses in teaching performance, teaching skills to be improved, comments and suggestions. Some students admitted that they received the score only from
the observation sheets. The following section was the description of the feedback the students
obtained based on interview results.
