Concluded judgment :
A technical test manual is necessary to provide.
The data above is analyzed and concluded as the overview feedbacks to improve the design of the testing model. The concluded feedbacks are: 1 the test
model is quite appropriate for the age and grade level of the test takers. 2 The test model is actually quite appropriate for use with the English educational
background situation of the test takers, but the topics or genres should be more varied. 3 The general level of proficiency required by the test is quite suitable
for the test takers. 4 The test model is acceptable interestingattractive to the test takers. 5 Time to give the test is not sufficient; 40-50 would be enough. 6
The materials and equipments needed to give the test are available. 7 The purpose of the test is not quite clear and appropriate; it needs a better formulation
of the purpose on the test making. 8 The test instructions actually are complete, clear and specific, but the format of the test model should be made more carefully
in the details. 9 No translation in bahasa Indonesia for the instructions is needed. 10 The layout of the testing instrument is quite clear and interesting for the test
takers, but some formats need a little revision. 11 The test items are culturally unbiased and appropriate. 12 A technical test manual is necessary to provide.
c. Overview of the Design from the Test Taker Candidates Students
As supplement to the experts’ overview feedbacks, four questions are given to the students test takers to figure out their opinions on the design of the test
model after they completed the test tasks during the trial test. The questions are
136 given in multiple choices. The students are invited to choose the answers which
would be used as additional information to the experts’ feedbacks. The recap is presented below:
The above data shows that for question no 1 which asks the students about the difficulty of the test items, 58 number of students said that the test items are
difficult, and 42 number of students said that the items are easy. Therefore, the researcher concludes that the test items are quite workable for the students. The
next question, namely question no 2 which asks the students about the format of the test items, 58 number of students said that the test format is attractive and
42 number of students said the format is very attractive. With such result, the researcher concludes that the test format is very attractive for the students. Going

137 further, for question no 3 which asks the students about the test instructions, 58
number of students said that the test instructions are easily understood and 42 number of students said that the instructions are difficult to understand. With
such answers, the researcher concludes that the test instructions are quite easy to understand. And the last question, namely question no 4 which asks the students
about the time provided 60 minutes to complete the tasks, 75 number of students said that the time is enough and 25 number of students said that it is
too long. Therefore the researcher concludes that the estimation of the test duration about 60 minutes should be reduced.
The overview data above will be analyzed together with the overview feedbacks from the expert respondents as the aspects of revision of the
preliminary test model which will be discussed in the next part of this chapter.
B. PRELIMINARY PRODUCT REVISION
The previous part of this chapter has been explored the results of evaluation of the preliminary product of the research and development conducted by the
researcher. Here, the results will be analyzed in details to formulate the aspects of revision that should be done to improve the test model. The analysis will be
divided into two: revision of the blue-print and revision of the test prototype which will be analyzed from reading comprehension section to writing section.
1. Revision of the Blue-Print
The evaluation of the blue-print of the testing model is done by inviting expert respondents to fill a questionnaire which concerns about the formulation of
