table at the level significant 0.05 2.00 and also t-observed 12.80 is higher than t- table at the level significant 0.01 2.65. From the result of t-test above it can be
concluded that in the hypothesis, there is a very significant effect of using word square method in learning vocabulary for Junior High School. It means that H
is rejected and H
a
is accepted; there is a significant effect of using word square method to the students’ achievement in mastering vocabulary.
4.3.1 Testing Hypothesis by using SPSS
In this section, the researcher is using SPSS to analyze data statistically. To analyze data, the researcher uses Paired Sample T-Test to test whether there is an
effect of treatment on a group before and after the treatment. Paired Sample T-Test can be done as follow:
Click: Analyze → Compare Means → T-Test → Paired Sample T-Test
For alpha value, the researcher choose alpha value 5 0.05 and 1 0.01

Paired Sample T-Test showed that the significance value is 0.000. The Determine of Decision:
H is accepted, if significant value alpha value.
H is rejected, if significant value alpha value.
So, the result is Ho is rejected because the significant value alpha value 0.000.05 and 0.00 0.01. It means that H
a
is accepted.
