WJ 5 -4.28 18.3184 Total ∑Y 2 = 907.144 Universitas Sumatera Utara Based on the calculation of the table, the following formula of t-test was implemented to find out t-observe value both groups as the basis t-test the hypothesis of this research: 1. SD Variabel X Standard Deviation of Experimental Group SD x or SD 1 = √ ∑X 2 N 1 = √ 35 6860 = √ 196 = 14 2. SD Variable Y Standard Deviation of Control Group SDy or SD 2 = √ ∑Y 2 N 2 = √ 35 907.144 = √ 25.9184 = 5.0910 The calculation above shows the following facts: SDx = 14 SDy = 5.0910 N 1 = 35 N 2 = 35 X 1 = 1470 X 2 = 325 X 1 = 42 Universitas Sumatera Utara X 2 = 9.28 X 2 -X 1 2 = 6860 X 2 -X 2 2 = 907.144 Therefore the following formula is implemented: SE M1 = SD 1 √ N 1 -1 = 14 √ 35-1 = 14 √ 34 = 14 5.830 = 2.4013 SE M2 = SD 2 √ N 2 -1 = 5.0910 √ 35-1 = 5.0910 √ 34 = 5.0910 5.830 = 0.8732 SE m1 = Standard Error of Mean Experimental Group SE m2 = Standard Error of Mean Control Group Universitas Sumatera Utara Next the following formula is implemented to find out the error standard of deviation between M 1 and M 2 : SE M1-M2 = √ SE M1 2 + SE M2 2 = √ 2.4013 2 + 0.8732 2 = √ 5.766241+ 0.762478 = √ 6.528719 = 2.5551 The result above then be applied to test hypothesis: T T observed = M 1 - M 2 SE M1-M2 = 42-9.28 2.5551 = 32.72 2.5551 = 12.80
