Reviews text is a text to critique an art work or event for a public audience. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that, types of writing according
to Anderson, there are 13 types of text in English. They are spoof, recount, report, analytical exposition, news item, anecdote, narrative, procedure, description,
hortatory exposition, explanation, discussion, reviews. Whereby, in this research the writer focuses on the descriptive text. It will be conducted in SMPN 1 Talangpadang,
in which based on syllabus on eighth grade, the students learn descriptive text.
