d. Reliability Test

Reliability according to the Word 2000 is a measure of the extent to which a measuring instrument gives a completely reliable about ability of a person. If the measuring instrument has a high reliability of the measurements were performed repeatedly with the measuring instrument to the same subject in the same condition in the same conditions will produce the same information or the same approach. One of the ways to calculate the reliability of a test without splitting the two tests is by using the Kuder-Richardson 20 formula, with the formula: = [1 − ∑ ] Description: k = number of question p = proportion of correct responses to a question q = proportion of incorrect responses to a question s 2 = variance of test scores Table 3.5 Classification of Reliability Coefficient ≤ 0,00 Very poor 0,00 ≤ 0,20 Poor 0,20 ≤ 0,40 Fair 0,40 ≤ 0,70 Good 0,70 ≤ 1,00 Very good Rizal Syafrudin,2014 THE EFFECT OF 5E LEARNING CYCLE MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN POLLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia | repository.upi.edu | perpustakaan.upi.edu Value 11 r Interpretation 0,90 ≤ ≤ 1,00 Very high reliability degree 0,70 ≤ 0,90 High reliability degree 0,40 ≤ 0,70 Medium reliability degree 0,20 ≤ 0,40 low reliability degree 0,20 Very low reliability degree

e. Instrument analysis result 1 Recapitulation of Students’ Learning Achievement Instrument

The instrument for measuring students’ learning achievement is by giving a multiple choice test in a form of twenty questions. The instrument should be tested in terms of validity, reliability, discriminating power and difficulty level, as explained before. The test was given to 28 students which have learned about the chapter that will be learned for the research. The recapitulation of test item analysis is shown in the following table. Reliability: 0.63 Medium reliability degree Table 3.6 Recapitulation of Test Item for Students’ Learning Achievement Question Number Discriminating Power Difficulty Level Validity Status 1 Poor Very easy Invalid Not Used 2 Poor Very easy Invalid Not Used 3 Poor Easy Very low Revised 4 Very good Difficult Low Used Rizal Syafrudin,2014 THE EFFECT OF 5E LEARNING CYCLE MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN POLLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia | repository.upi.edu | perpustakaan.upi.edu 5 Poor Very easy Invalid Not Used 6 Very good Easy Medium Used 7 Good Easy Medium Used 8 Very good Medium Medium Used 9 Poor Very easy Invalid Not Used 10 Fair Very easy Low Revised 11 Poor Very easy Invalid Not Used 12 Fair Very easy Medium Used 13 Very poor Very difficult Invalid Not Used 14 Very good Easy Low Revised 15 Very good Very easy Medium Used 16 Poor Difficult Very low Revised 17 Poor Very easy Invalid Not Used 18 Good Very easy Medium Used 19 Poor Very easy Medium Used 20 Poor Easy Very low Revised 21 Very good Medium Very low Revised 22 Poor Easy Very low Revised 23 Fair Easy Low Used 24 Very Poor Medium Very low Revised 25 Poor Very difficult Invalid Not Used 26 Very poor Medium Low Revised 27 Poor Very easy Medium Used 28 Very good Difficult Medium Used 29 Very poor Difficult Very low Not Used 30 Poor Easy Invalid Not Used Question number 3, 10, 14, 16, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26 are revised because discrimination power is fair, poor, very porr and validity is low, very low level so it should be revised, question number 4, 6, 7, 8, 12, 15, 18, 19,23, 27, 28 are used because discrimination power is good, very good and validity is medium so for this question is accepted. 2 Instrument non-test requirements a Questionnaire Questionnaire is used to know the response of the students towards implementation of 5E Learning Cycle model in pollution and environmental Rizal Syafrudin,2014 THE EFFECT OF 5E LEARNING CYCLE MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN POLLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia | repository.upi.edu | perpustakaan.upi.edu damage chapter during the lesson and e-book of ipse. This data obtained from students’ answer from 15 questions of each questionnaire given in the end of the lesson.
