B. Suggestions
This part is divided into two main parts. The first part is the suggestion for future researchers and the second part is the suggestion for teaching learning
English through literary work.
1. Suggestion for the Future Researchers
The Kite Runner is a novel that is rich in terms of content. It enables the readers to draw many interpretations related to the story. Nevertheless, there is an
interesting part that can be explored and studied as a continuity of this study. It is about the relationship between Assef and Hitler. The writer suggests other
researchers to investigate on the relationship between Assef and Hitler thoroughly and more detailed. It is stated in the novel that Assef idolizes Hitler and,
surprisingly, Assef grows and becomes more similar to Hitler. In his writing about Hitler, Erich Fromm regards Hitler as a person who
has syndrome of decay. He describes Hitler as a person who has combination of necrophilia having interest to death, violence, destruction, and pain, malignant
narcissism being narrowly focused on self-interests, and incestuous symbiosis having blind devotion to the Germanic ‘race’ that is Aryan so he fanatically
dedicates himself to prevent Aryans’ blood from non-Aryans, especially Jews. With regard to these statements, Assef possesses the same characteristics. Assef is
interested to death, violence, destruction, and pain. It is clearly shown by his actions in killing Hazaras, stoning the Afghans people who are suspected as
fornicators, and torturing the people who do not follow the Taliban’s rules.
71 Assef also has a malignant narcissism. He always does what he likes and
believes it as true. He never considers other people. He strongly assumes that his ideas are right. It is clear that Assef has what Fromm refers as incestuous
symbiosis. Assef has strong belief that Afghanistan is the land of Pasthuns, so other races, especially Hazara, have to be swept out from Afghanistan. Besides, he
is very proud of his German gene. It is vivid that there is a relationship between Assef’s personalities and
Hitler. Therefore, the writer expects that the further researchers will conduct researchers on this hypothesis. It will be interesting and challenging to conduct
researches which concern more on how Assef’s view of Hitler, including his awareness of having Germany origin, influences his personalities development.
2. Suggestion for Teaching Intensive Reading Using Literary Work
