METODOLOGI PENELITIAN
3.1 Waktu dan Tempat Penelitian
Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Instrumentasi Fisis dan Optoelektronika dimulai dari tanggal 5 Februari 2015 sampai 20 April 2015 di Pusat Penelitian Fisika (PPF), Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI), Pusat Penelitian dan Teknologi (Puspiptek), Serpong, Tangerang Selatan, Banten.
3.2 Tahapan Penelitian
Tahapan penelitian yaitu langkah peneliti dalam menuliskan karya ilmiah ini berdasarkan disiplin ilmu yang harus dikerjakan untuk mencapai hasil akhir penelitian yang sesuai dan tepat waktu. Tahapan penelitian tersebut dapat dijelaskan berdasarkan diagram blok pada gambar 3.1 dibawah ini.

1. Blok DFB Laser: sumber penghasil gelombang elektromagnetik pada range panjang gelombang 1550 ± 20 nm
2. Blok OSA (optical Spectrum Analyzer) : untuk menunjukkan dan mengukur spektrum gelombang optik yang dihasilkan dari DFB laser
3. Blok OEM Laser Diode Controller : pusat kontrol dari DFB laser yang dapat mengatur kontrol arus dan kontrol tempertur laser.
4. Blok akuisisi data : membaca hasil output pengukuran laser dari OEM Laser
Diode Controller yang diakuisisi dengan LabJack U6 Pro
5. Blok Personal Computer : Instrumentasi visual untuk melihat kontrol arus dan temperatur yang kemudian disimpan secara otomatis.

3.4 Pengujian Karakterisasi Temperatur Terhadap Panjang Gelombang dan Arus Terhadap Daya pada DFB Laser dengan Optical Spectrum Analyzer
Pengujian ini dimaksudkan melihat hubungan yang terjadi pada panjang gelombang terhadap variasi temperatur. Temperatur yang diatur oleh OEM Laser
Diode Controller yaitu dimulai dari 33,39 oC sampai 54,93 oC. Dan pengujian karakterisasi daya terhadap variasi arus. Arus yang divariasikan dimulai dari 10.8 mA sampai 20 mA. Urutan pengujian ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan diagram blok yang terlihat pada gambar 3.3 dibawah ini.

3.5 Pengujian Karakterisasi Temperatur Terhadap Arus dan Arus Terhadap Temperatur Pada DFB Laser Dengan LabView 2011
Pengujian karakterisasi ini melihat perubahan yang terjadi pada arus terhadap variasi temperatur yang diberikan pada DFB laser. Diagram blok pengujian karakterisasi arus yang terhadap variasi tempratur pada DFB laser dengan sistem penyimpanan data menggunakan LabView 2011 sebagai berikut.

3.6 Pengujian Karakterisasi Temperatur Terhadap Waktu dan Arus Terhadap Waktu dan Pada DFB Laser dengan LabView 2011
Pada pengujian ini digunakan DFB Laser Anritsu dengan panjang gelombang 1550 – 1553 nm.. Laser tersebut telah diatur temperatur dan arusnya tetap dari OEM Laser diode Controller menggunakan ITC 102 Thorlabs. Data temperatur dan arus hasil pengukuran thermistor tersebut masih dalam tegangan dalam satuan volt. Sehingga data yang masuk ke data akuisisi LabJack U6 Pro langsung dapat diukur menggunakan fitur AIN.
