13.1 Perbandingan Antar KabupatenKota
Pada tahun 2015 Tanah Datar memiliki jumlah penduduk terbanyak
ke-12 di Sumatera Barat yaitu sebanyak
344 828
jiwa. Daerah yang paling
banyak penduduknya
di Sumatera Barat adalah Kota Padang.
Sedangkan daerah yang paling sedikit penduduknya adalah Kota Padang
Panjang yaitu sebesar 50 883 jiwa. Kabupaten Tanah Datar memiliki
jumlah penduduk miskin terbanyak ke-11 di Sumatera. Barat yaitu
sebanyak 18 300 jiwa Daerah yang paling banyak penduduk miskinnya
adalah Kota Padang. Sedangkan yang paling sedikit penduduk miskinnya
adalah Kota Sawahlunto. Daerah yang memiliki nilai IPM
tertinggi di Sumatera Barat adalah Kota Padang
yaitu sebesar 80,36. Nilai IPM terendah di Sumatera Barat adalah
Kep. Mentawai yaitu sebesar 57,41. Nilai IPM Kabupaten Tanah Datar
berada di peringkat ke-10 yaitu sebesar 69,49.
