ABSTRACT
Long-tailed Macaca’s (Macaca fascicularis) Blood Profiles Fed With High
Energy Diet for Four Months at First Obese Period
Afiza, M., S.S. Mansjoer, and C. Choliq
The aim of this research was to determine blood profiles of Long-tailed
Macaca (Macaca fascicularis) which were fed with high fat and soluble carbohydrate
as the obese diet. The ingredients of obese diet came from local source such as sugar,
wheat flour, tallow, vegetable oil, fish meal, maize flour, soybean meal, rice bran,
yolk, mineral (calsium carbonat and calsium phosphate) and fiber source from agaragar. Environmental enrichment was alternately given fruit apple, orange, papaya,
and guava (weight 10 g/head/day) in a frozen state. Bananas were given about 70
g/day as additional feed. Ten adult males (av. BW 3-5 kg, 5-6,5 year) and five adult
males (BW 3-5 kg, 5-6,5 year) subsequently treated with obese diet and control diet.
Observed variable are red blood cells count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, Mean
Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH), Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) Mean
Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) for red bood cell indices and
neutrofil, eosinofil, basofil, limfosit and monosit for white blood cell differentiation.
The blood was collected from femoral vein under anaesthetized condition. Blood
samples were analyzed by automated machine (hematology analyzer). High energy
diet had highly significant influence (P0,05). Period nested within feed treatment did not significantly
(P>0,05) except on MCHC (highly significant, P
fascicularis) YANG DIBERI PAKAN BERENERGI
