3. MATERIALS AND METHOD
3.1. Study site and time
This study took place at Pangumbahan beach, Sukabumi, West Java which lies between 7°19’14.2”- 7°20’02.4” S and 106°23’13.3”-106°23’53.9” E Figure
4. Pangumbahan beach is considered to be one of major nesting beach of green turtle Chelonia mydas in Java Island. The beach ranges approximately 2.3 km
long with beach vegetation as background. The area is managed by UPTD Konservasi Penyu Pangumbahan under the Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan
Sukabumi Sukabumi Marine and Fisheries Agency. The conservation strategy was carried out by protecting seaturtle eggs from illegal poaching. All eggs were
relocated from the beach to hatchery sites. The field work was done in 26
