CHAPTER III RESEARCH FINDINGS AND DATA ANALYSIS

A. Data Description

In this analysis, the speech transcription text that will be analyzed is the speech transcription text of Minister Foreign Affairs Republic of Indonesia Mr. Marty M. Natalegawa on the Meeting of the 5th Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations, at February 27th 2013 in Vienna. The text is taken from the official website of Ministry Foreign Affairs Republic of Indonesia at www.kemlu.go.id. The speech text was delivered in Vienna Austria, when the Minister come to speech in the forum for conveying Indonesian perspective regarding the problems of tolerance, pluralism, interfaith dialogue, civilization and peace to the international forum. The speech text has 26 paragraphs which consists of the opening, the contents and the closing. From the total of the 26 paragraphs that called as language data, then it generates 20 paragraphs gained as the final language data. The selected 20 paragraphs are coming from the reasons: those selected data are the very relevant and sufficient data to represent the interest and the aim of the research in the level of text analysis in representations. In addition, those data are also used to the interest of discourse practice and sociocultural analysis level. Analysis of the text of this speech will be divided into two major parts, text analysis and analysis of intertextuality discourse practice and sociocultural practice. Text analysis is divided into two subsections of the analysis, namely the 39 analysis of the text representation and analysis of relation and identity in the text. In its application, the analysis of the representation of the text is subdivided into three subsections of analysis, namely the analysis of representation in the clause, the analysis of representation in combination clause, and analysis in the combination of inter sentences. Meanwhile, the analysis of intertextuality is in the form of representation of discourse analysis.
