Taksi merupakan sarana transportasi dalam pergerakan penduduk dalam usaha pemenuhan
kebutuhannya, yang terletak dari lokasi yang berbeda dari tempat tinggal mereka. Dalam
menganalisa kebutuhan taksi perkembangan dan pertumbuhan penduduk merupakan factor yang
harus diperhatikan mengingat sasaran dari analisa tersebut terletak pada tingkat permintaan
(demand) terhadap penyediaan (supply) taksi.
Hasil dari analisa menunjukkan bahwa jumlah armada taksi yang dibutuhkan masyarakat kota
Malang berdasarkan jumlah penduduk pada tahun 2006 adalah sebanyak 292 buah. Sedangkan
taksi yang telah memiliki ijin trayek sebanyak 470 buah. Tentunya Kota Malang mengalami
penumpukan. Sehingga perlu dilakukan pengaturan ulang dari jumlah armada yang beroperasi
agar terjadi keseimbangan antara tingkat permintaan (demand) dengan penyediaan (supply). Dan
untuk taksi yang dibutuhkan kota malang untuk tahun 2010 adalah 305 buah.
Abstract
Taxis are the means of transport in the movement of residents in an effort to meet its needs, which is
located from a different location from where they reside. In analyzing the needs of taxi development
and population growth is a factor that must be considered given the goal of this analysis lies in the level
of demand (demand) of supply (supply) taxi.
Results of analysis showed that the number of taxis needed Malang society based on the total
population in 2006 was as many as 292 pieces. While the taxi that is licensed to route as many as 470
pieces. Surely Malang congested. So that needs to be done by rearranging the number of buses
operating for a balance between the level of demand (demand) with the provision (supply). And for a
