Karakter Fisik Polen Polen

Alergen polen import lainnya umumnya berasal dari polen ragweed Ambrosia sp., redroot pigweed Amaranthus retroflexus, lamb’s quarter Chenopodium album, russian thistle Salsola australis, english plantain Plantago lanceolata, rumput timothy Phalaris angusta, rumput kentucky Poa pratensis, rumput johnson Sorghum halepense, rumput orchard Dactylis glomerata, rumput bermuda Cynodon dactylon, rumput sweet vernal Anthoxanthum odoratum, oak Quercus sp., ash Fraxinus sp., hickory Ulmus sp., pecan Carya illinoensis, dan box elder atau Acer negundo Hopkins Technology 2006 yang juga relatif tidak ditemukan di Indonesia. Tertangkapnya polen jagung, kelapa genjah, pinus, dan kelapa sawit di udara bebas Pasar Minggu Jakarta Selatan serta kemampunan polen tersebut dalam menyebabkan alergi pernapasan pada tikus wistar menunjukkan bahwa keempat polen tersebut berpotensi digunakan sebagai bahan alergen untuk mendeteksi alergi pernapasan serta sebagai bahan imunoterapi dalam penyembuhan alergi pernapasan di Indonesia.
