GARIS BATAS LANDAS KONTINEN ANTARA KEDUA NEGARA DIBA,,

GIAN UTARA SELAT MALAKA DAN DI LAUT ANDAMAN.

BERHASRAT untuk memperkuat ikatan persahabatan jang telah ada antara
kedua negara, dan
BERHASRAT untuk menetapkan garis - garis batas landas kontinen antara

kedua negara dibagian Utara Selat Malaka dan di Laut Andaman,

TELAH MENJETUDJUI SEBAGAI BERIKUT:

PASAL I

1)

Batas landas kontinen Indonesia dan Thailand di bagian Utara
..

Selat Malaka dan di Laut Andaman adalah garis lurus jang ditarik
dari suatu titik jang koordinat-koordinatnja adalah 6° 21•.8

Budjur Timur (selandjutnja disebut titik 1)

menudju kearah barat ke suatu titik jang koordinat-koordinatnja
adalah 7°05•.8 Lintang Utara 96°36 1 .5 Budjur Timur (selandjutnja
disebut titik 2).
2)

Garis batas jang menghubungkan titik 1 dan Titik Bersama

(Common

Point) jang disebutkan didalam Memorandum of Understanding jang
ditanda-tangani di Bangkok tanggal 15 Oktober 1970 oleh wakilwakil Indonesia, Malaysia dan Thailand, akan dimasukkan setjara
resmi didalam suatu persetudjuan segitiga jang akan dibuat dalam
waktu jang dekat antara Pemerintah ketiga negara.

Koordinat-koordinat dari titik-titik jang ditetapkan dalam ajat

1), jaitu koordinat-koordinat geografi, dan garis lurus jang
menghubungkannja diperlihatkan diatas peta jang dilampirkan

Atas permintaan salah satu Pemerintah, letak jang sebenarnja dari

dari kedua Pemerintah.

Koordinasi Survey dan Pemetaan Nasional, termasuk setiap orang
jang dikuasakannja, dan untuk Keradjaan Thailand, Chao Krom
Uthoksat (Direk ur Departemen Hidrografi), termasuk setiap orang
jang dikuasakannja.

PASAL II

Apabila suatu struktur tunggal minjak dan gas bumi melintasi garis
lurus jang disebut dalam pasal I, dan bagian dari struktur tersebut
jang terletak disalah satu sisi dari garis tersebut sebagian atau
seluruhnja dapat diusahakan eksploitasinja dari sisi lain

tersebut, maka kedua Pemerintah akan berusaha untuk mentjapai persetudjuan tentang tjara jang paling

dalam mengusahakan eksploitasi

struktur tersebut.

PASAL III

Setiap perselisihan antara kedua Pemerintah jang timbul dari penafsiran
atau pelaksanaan Persetudjuan ini akan diselesaikan setjara damai
melalui musjawarah atau perundingan.

PASAL IV

Persetudjuan ini akan disahkan menurut ketentuan2 hukum dari kedua
negara masing-masing.

BOUNDARY BETWEEN

OF THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND ,
DESIRING to stren then the existing bonds of friendship between
the two countries, and

DESIRING to establish continental shelf boundaries between the
two countries in the northern part of the Straits of f\alacca
and in the Andaman Sea,

HAVE AGREED AS

OLLO\ S :

ARTICLE I
1).

The boundary between the continental she lves of Indonesia

and Th ailand in the northern part of the Straits of Malacca and
in the Andaman Sea is the strai ,h t line drawn from a point whose

co-ordinates are Latitude 6° 21'.8 N Lon itude 97° 54'.0 E
(hereinafter referred to as point 1)

in a weste·rly direction

Any dispute between the two Governments arisin
