CREDIT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ITALY

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the
Government of the Republic of Italy, in the spirit of
friendship and economic cooperation between the two countries,
have agreed as follows :

Article

l

The Government of the Republic of Italy shall extend
to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia a credit to
the amount of US$. 3.750.000 (three million seven hundred and

dollars) to be utilized for the improvement

of the economic situation of Indonesia within the framework
of the Italian participation in cooperation schemes and
programmes to be agreed between the two Governments
The Government of the Republic of Italy shall also
extend to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia
a grant of US$. 900.000

(nine hundred thousand US. doll a rs) to b e

utilized for vocational training.

Articl e

2

The credit referred to in Article l Paragraph I shall
be granted at the fol lowing conditions :
- reimbursement in 22 (twenty two) half-yearly consecutive
equal principal instalments, the first of which falling
due 30 (thirty) months after the date of each drawdown
- interest rate of 2.25% (two point twenty five percent)
per annum.

3

The technical arrangements and the other conditions
for the granting of the above mentioned credit referred to
in Article 1 Paragraph I will be agreed in a separate
Financial Convention to be concluded between the Mediocredito
Centrale, acting on authorization of the Italian Government,
and the Minister of Finance , acting on account of the
Republic of Indonesia.
Article

4

This Agreement shall come into force on the day of
its signature and it shall remain in force until the last
payment to the Mediocredito Centrale, to be due under
previous Article 2, is made.

With reference to the financial Agreement for the
granting of a financial credit of US$. 3.750.000

(three

million seven hundred and fifty thousand US. dollars),
signed under to-day's date between the Government of the
Republic of Italy and the Government of the Republic of
Indonesia, I have the honour of informing you that the said
credit shall be utilized for paying for the supply, by NIRA
S.p.A. - Genova -, of a laboratory for the Serpong nuclear
research centre (project Puspitek).
Please confirm to me in writing the agreement of
your Government on the contents of this letter.
